I recently had to format my hard drive in my Ps3(slim if it matters) and i went to upload my saved game from my USB and i got that message that this is another users profile and i cant use it. Is this just because PSN is down and ill be able to go back and use it once PSN is back up?
 
I have the same problem...mine is the fat ps3...formatted the hdd then when loading the saved game data from my flashdrive, gives me the same message,,,just waiting for psn to go back online to see if that will help.
 
The problem you are having is because you have not logged in PSN, due to the copy protection, when PSN works you need to create the profile you created before with your save and it will work.
 
Be sure to use the same user ID that the save came from before the format.That would be my best guess.
 
I downloaded my old save file this morning and it was able to let me use it without any issue, anyone else who experienced this issue it should resolve itself when you log back in to PSN.
