So I'm like the newest member to the ever-expanding YLOD Club after playing GT5. This is actually becoming a serious issue for Sony to look at.
Anyway, was on A-Spec lv 26, B-Spec lv 16, 3.6m in the bank, loads of sexy cars... Going well, grinding away.
Then whilst doing a B-Spec race at Suzuka my PS3 shuts itself off and now it turns on but turns itself off within a minute or so. Yellow. Light. Of. Death...
(BTW: My PS3is was a 40gb, no PS2, 2X USB model with a 160gb drive replacement.)
My questions are these;
The save game file is copy protected (at the moment), but I can't copy it to an external drive as it won't let me. I only have a minute or so to try as my PS3 powers off, YLOD and blinks red...
But... We hear that PD will patch the game to 'unlock' the file but how can I update the game if my PS3 wont stay on long enough or refuse to power up?
Has anybody used the 'Transfer Data Utility' to move files to another PS3?
Can you select what to move or is it a full transfer of everything? (This will be bad as I doubt it will stay powered long enough
I know putting my HD into another PS3 is futile. But can I copy from the HD off my broken PS3 (By taking it out and installing it inside a usb drive case) to a new PS3?
I did backup my PS3, but about a month before GT so its only my GT save I'm worried about.
I've 'only' lost a weeks worth of play, but would like the knowledgeable tech savvy folk of
to help out and salvage what I can from my dying, corpse of a PS3.
5 years wait, 9 days play, 1 dead PS3...
