Dear Admins and Moderators.

I'm troubled by the way this sub-forum is developing. It has become a place to complain and ridicule B-spec. We who really want to develop B-spec skills and decypher the game mechanics cannot see the forest for trees, as the Norwegians say. Could we possibly split this into 2 new sub-forums? One for complaints/ridicule/anger etc. and one for serious discussions?

This is, after all, half the game and it will evolve from the 1st of february...so there's still time to 'save' this forum.

In any other RPG wih developing personas these negative posts would be laughable. Oh...why can't I take down a level 10 boss in Balder's Gate with my new guy? Why does my totally undeveloped man in Oblivion not have access to advanced weapons? DAMN BETHESDA!

Most people haven't got it. This isn't GTP's fault, but I think GTP could make it easier for us.

I want to 'get it' and help others too, but if this continues, GTP won't be the place to find 'it'.

Help...we're drowning in ignorance here.

Why not have a sticky thread, Why I love B-Spec & Why I Hate B-Spec. All praise and scorn can be limited to that thread.

There needs to be a sticky or something. It's ridiculous that there are so many anti-B-Spec threads all with the same comments.

You missed my point BigYoSpeck. One sticky for complaints/ranting/anger/ridicule. The rest can be what the forum is about (constructive B-spec discussions).

That's basically what he said. One for negative comments, one for positive ones. It makes sense.

So the forum should just have those two threads in it?
Or do you mean things like 'I love B-spec' could be in a positive sticky, while discussons about B-spec track-triggers, driver management, The meaning of Physical Strength, How I won the SLS Challenge etc. can be in normal threads? I'd like the latter (very much ;-)).
Sorry if I misunderstood you Freight, but my blood pressure's up ;-)

There is only so much we can do. We cannot force people to post in a particular thread or forum (as you have proved as this should be in the site feedback forum).

We can have all the stickies in the world but, a guy who just wants to shout loudly about B-spec being rubbish is just going to post his thread where he wants to post it.

I'm not saying have only two threads. That makes no sense. I'm saying have a general thread for positive comments, one for negative comments. So we don't have 4,000 positive threads and 4,000 negative ones...

Whew...thanks. But I don't get the 4000 positive ones bit ;-)

Daan, by putting it in B-spec I was hoping to get some support....one man's wishes might not get taken seriously, but I know we are many frustrated serious contributors here, and when the SLS Challenge finishes, the people involved there (probably the most skilled of us) will start revealing their secrets.

Just trying to improve the service.

We can have all the stickies in the world but, a guy who just wants to shout loudly about B-spec being rubbish is just going to post his thread where he wants to post it.

But then you'd have reason to close the thread which would discourage most of the complaint threads being made now.

So let me see if I understand you.

If there's a sticky about some subject, let's say Experienced Gained In A-spec. If I then post another thread about the same thing, wouldn't that be frowned upon? Wouldn't the moderators close my thread and tell me to use the search/read the sticky?

Your logic as stated above does not support this idea.

I mean well, but you confuse me. Please enlighten.

Edit: On second thoughts....don't bother. It's your site, not mine. Why should I care about the quality of the forum? If you couldn't see my point first time, there's no point going on about it. You obviously think the B-spec forum should remain as it is and who am I to disagree? Most people hate B-spec and I'm sure there's plenty of 'most people' amongst the moderators too.

Please close the thread

I think you'll find what daan is saying is that we see no reason to exclude one group from using the subforum simply because they don't want to use it the way a second group wants them to. The only possibe solution I could see is a "B-Spec Development" subforum specifically for what you're after, but in its current state, we can't just deny someone access to the subforum like that.

Having a rant thread, no matter how horrible that sounds, would be a lot better for people who wish to use the B-Spec forum constructively.

There is meant to be a new element coming to GTPlanet for feedback on the game soon, perhaps that will help clear some things up in the GT5 section.

Then let's consider this the go-to thread, shall we? Want to rant about Bob and his brothers Bob, Bob and Bob? Go there.
