Hey i dont think this question was asked...i looked and didnt find...so here i go..Does anybody know if You can transfer your savegame from GT3 to GT4 like it was with GT1 to GT2...i Really dont feel like spending a couple of hours gettin my license(s) just to race on that Nice looking NY Track Ya know? So does anybody know?

I haven't seen any shred of anything that makes me think this will be implemented.

It isn't that much of a hassle to do the licenses.

i dont see the need

i find the licences easy and fun

Bit of an exaggeration there

License tests are there to be done and are fun, surely gettin bronzes isn't that much hard work for you.

i dont think you can transfer ...
since gt1 and gt2 didnt let u do that :)
but it shoudl be fun to do everything again, if they mix it up a bit.

My understanding is that because of the different cars that will be on offer, game-saves will not transfer.

I doubt it, because then you would have all of your cars from GT3 in GT4, that would make the beginning of the game WAY to easy right? If we did have that option I wouldn't do it.

That's not how it worked.

In GT2 if you had a completed GT1 gamesave you could do a "save transfer" which gave you all bronzes in the GT2 licence tests for Domestic B and Domestic A, so you didn't have to do them when they considered you'd already reached a high enough skill level. The only reason it wasn't offered on GT3 is because of the incompatability of the two memory card types.

I suspect the answer would be "yes", but again limited to a basic "pass" of the lower licences.

I highly doubt a transfer thing. You have to see that the license tests/cars will be different. While it would be easy to just show that you've done the licenses, it could cause a problem if you decide to do the license tests anyway.

Plus, I'm a good driver so I can do the tests easily. And it's fun to go flat out in a Demio and then try to stop in a small rectangle. :)

They were different in GT2 than GT1 as well - for a start there were twice as many of them. The producers just decided that if you'd got a 100% complete game, you deserved a head start as you'd already reached a requisite skill level.

Rather than filling in ALL the licences bronze, they just gave you the first 16 - Domestic B and Domestic A - bronze, so you had access to more of the game from the off.

They didn't fill in times, or golds, or anything else - just if you'd done 100% before, you got the first two licences at a basic pass...

from now on, 'stik man' will act-out all my feelings.

I dont think they would implement this. I was reading an article that said the physics engine is completely new and the handling characteristics and all have changed. So I would find it appropriate to redo all license tests to get used to the new physics engine. And it would be ridiculous to get GT4 and be able to drive ur Poly 001 / F094/S as soon as you start off... What's the point of that?

I never knew you could transfer the GT1 save game to GT2. Live and learn.

If GT4 has this option, I will most likely ignore it. On second thought, I just might go through the game for an hour or two to get a looksie the first time I load it up, then start it over and do it right for reals.:D

I wish it wold have save transfer because license is too hard. And whoever said that it
"would be ridiculous to get GT4 and be able to drive ur Poly 001 / F094/S as soon as you start off... What's the point of that?"
your a $%#$%$%! First of all, I would want to use my FO94/s online, yes ONLINE. That would suck if you have a $$#%$% Demio and race it online! Now I bet the person who wrote that does know a little about GT4 or is posing to be a GT4 fan!! POSER

GT4 online coooool

The physics and handling changed from GT1 to GT2 as well.

Again with the "only thing that happened was the first two licences were "passed" for you"... You didn't get to keep your cars...

Transfer or not, I'll probably need to go do the licenses anyways to get a feel for the game before I purchase a vehicle and start racing.
