Saving Profile

Hello All,
First post, new to all this gaming(45yr).
Is it possibable to save all your progress in GT5P then delete the game and reinstall it.
There seems to be a problem with some of the cars, all of a sudden you can only get half the power out of the car, even if you don't have a bump or something.
So I'm thinking of reinstalling GT5P to see if that gets rid of the glitch.
Also having a problem downloading the new update, goer quarter the way before ERROR pop's up, restart go's all the way back to the begining
Thank's All
Arthur

Have a look inside 'Saved Data Utility' in the PS3's XMB, near the top of the game menu column. It may help to press triangle and chose group content by title (as I have a huge number of files in here). Anyway, on mine I have a few ghost replays and race replays saved in here. There is also a file called just "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" which is the small file that contains your progress through the game. Copy that file on to a memory stick plugged in via USB (select the file, press triangle and choose copy), that should do the trick. Perhaps save any replays too.

When you have deleted and reinstalled the game, replace the new game progress file with the one you backed up on the memory stick.

Not done this myself but I'm sure this is the way to do it! :D

Oh, and regarding the update. Just keep retrying. The download of the update actually resumes but the progress bar does not show this. Eventually, it'll complete.

Do you have a Driving Force Pro? This problem can be caused by the pedals.

Regarding reinstalling the game, as far as I know it doesn't remove your progress when you remove the gamedata from your hard drive.

Traction control turned off?? The problem you described could be this as well?

yeah it can be the traction control=ASM, if you turn this off, you can really start to enjoy this game in pro physics

Traction Control = TSC
ASM = Assisted Stability Management

TSC (tries) to prevent your wheels from spinning, ASM helps you while cornering by partitially control brake and throttle to prevent under and oversteer.

For the DFP pedal problem (where the brake can partially engage without touching the pedals, or the throttle does not fully engage), check this thread.

There's also a remedy described there. I've followed the directions and haven't had problems since. 👍

It's not the pedals, has have tried 2 different ones.
It's a intermittent problem, different cars and tracks.
Best wipe clean me thinks....

Shame on you GTP Moderators and respected users... 9 post without a
