I neglected to actually film the saving part. :sly: But it's pretty simple. After the race is over and you return to the lobby/lounge, click the icon on the bottom of the screen for "RESULTS". When the results screen pops up, you'll have an option to save it.

The saved replay can then be accessed and watched from the GT Life section as shown in the video.

A few additional points worth mentioning:

- I was not the host of this lobby so it appears as long as you're in the lobby, either participating in the race or in spectator mode, you can save the replay.

- The replays function as any other off-line replay with the exception that you don't have a choice of viewing angle.

- You can enter photo mode during the replay and take pictures of your car, other cars and more importantly for online racing, take photos of "Racing Incidents".

- As many others have pointed out, although you can 'Export' these videos, there does not appear to be a way to send them from the PS3 directly to YouTube and the XMB's video uploader will not work with these videos, either pre or post update. (If anybody finds a way, I'll update this post).

- At least two of the participants in this race were in Portugal, one I believe in Denmark and I'm in North America. In general, the lobby seemed relatively lag free with good voice chat quality.

- This video is essentially the same as what you see during spectator mode.

Thanks for the report Jeff, I hadn't saw these features yet.
It looks we'll be having great online racing moments shortly.:)
Btw, congrats on your first(off many I'm sure)online win...:P;):D

Just found this out myself and was gonna post this. But here you are ahead of me :) Yes I'm very happy at least this will be one way of me watching replay of me and my friends racing since 2p does not have replay :(

In general, I enjoy watching replays if it's been an exciting race with good close action. But when you're running organized events, especially with a lot of people in the lobby, it can be also a useful tool to help settle disputes. And keeping in mind that there's aways an element of lag involved, sometimes more, sometimes less, it's also important to point out that the replay YOU save may look a bit different than the replay somebody else recorded. It will be interesting in such situations to post them both to Youtube and compare them as I believe the game will always show the track from pre-programmed angles.

As an example, it looks like I rear ended one of the other drivers coming through the S-bend on turn one. (As a courtesy, and to show no ill intent, I hesitated for a moment to give him a bit of space). But you can tell there was also a bit of lag involved here has he stopped incredibly short. I'm not sure if he saved the replay but I'm willing to bet from his perspective, it looked like he slowed down and my car lurched forward and hit him.

But at least in this way you can clearly see if somebody missed their braking point and punted somebody else out or if somebody was driving on their own with no cars around and blatantly corner cutting to make up time. (Which, BTW, side comment, PD really needs to tighten up the penalty zones at some tracks. Monza at least is a corner cutters dream :yuck:)

Looking for a way to race Nürburgring Nordschliefe with variable time (but fixed weather) I entered an online race by myself and saved the replay. Race was held at night, but replay showed daytime.

Has this happened to anyone? How can I watch the replay in the actual lighting the race was held?

Any comments will be appreciated!
