I saw an Acura Integra on the road today, nice yellow paint job, no scratches dents etc, a nicer looking ride, and then the biggest part of the car that made it very different from any other integra ive seen... was that the guy was driving on the right side of the car :dunce:

Isn't that illegal in America? I always thought you couldn't drive imported cars that have "passanger-seat driving" on the main roads. Or basically I thought it wasn't street legal.

Or, is it?

It's perfectly legal, just inconvenient. I wonder if it was the ultimate JDM conversion? Some people will do anything... sheesh.

Ha ha that would be so dumb!

Maybe it was an import Honda Integra from say UK (RHD) and they have put on Acura badges - for no apparent reason!

I dont know much about all that now, all I know is he caught my eye.

It makes me want one just for the sake of "omg wtf how did you get that car?" from people who don't know you can import cars.

Where do people import cars from anyway? What business's do that?

Japanese Car Import companies? - there are plenty of them in the UK, but then we do share RHD with the Japanese.

Once a Ho_da... always a Ho_da...

If they do it and crash by themselves then by all means please do...

I'm not a kid thanks. If I did have a car like that it would be imported, not a conversion. And yes, I'd still do it for the reaction. Sorry if that bothers you. And it'd be my own money.

Didn't you have RHD post vans for years?

Not only do we still have RHD postal Jeeps, but RHD is standard on all parking enforcement vehicles. I saw an RHD Wrangler today. In fact, I'd venture that 90% of the RHD vehicles in the country are owned by the US government. So, illegal? Not so much.

Well, what kind of insurance company would cover something like that? Say if I wanted to import some random car from japan. And how much does something like importing from over seas cost?

I mean im sorry, but why import an integra when you can easilly go to the dealership and get one? It would cost much more to import one than to go to a dealership and get one

There are a ton of RHD cars in Michigan, hell GM owns a bunch of them. We have a Lancer Evo 7 in Milford that GM was doing something with many years ago. There are also Opels, Vauxhalls, etc. there too. We even have a Renault van thing right now with it RHD. We take it out on the roads.

Also a company we work with on something or other, they are working on the RHD Ranger, Everest, and Escape. They are on the roads all the time.

You don't get Type-Rs.

That pretty much covers it.

We do - Acura sold the Integra Type R in the United States in 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2001. And the current RSX Type-S is nearly as quick as the JDM Type-R. Really, the US is set for quick Integras - much more so than Britain, who doesn't even get the current model.

Gotta be JDM!

Japanes Direct Marekt I believe. It's buying crap from Japan to put on your American car.

First off its BlazinXtreme, and second it is crap because you pay 3 times as much for stuff like JDM seats when you can just buy stuff here in America that looks the same. Plus people put way to much thought into where there crap comes from. Nobody cares that you spent a 100 bucks on a JDM cigarette lighter.

When I had a Civic, then an Eclipse, I never once bought JDM crap for it. It wasn't worth the money, I just bought stuff that was made in China and it did the same things.

JDM is worthless, plain and simple.

It may be expensive, but that doesn't make it crap, does it?

Diamonds and cubic zirconia look pretty similar, but diamonds are a lot more expensive. Does that make them crap? (I actually really don't understand why people pay so much for diamonds, but I still think this makes my point).

Yes, quite common for the JDM Fanboys who will go to those extreme measures to get their car to be more JDM then USDM.

I beleive it's the same for 180SX (or insert correct USDM equivalent here) and Silvia badging?

For me it's the opposite, I get a surprise whenever I see an LHD car.

Yea but unless the car is 20 or 30 years old, classic in other words, you've got to get it converted before you can register it. It's put my desire to get an F-body on hold for about say, oh 20 years.
