So, as it turns out SBK-08 did come out in the states a few months ago, but I didn't realize until just now. I've heard great things about it, but I also know that it's made by the same guys who made MotoGP 08, which I already have. If anyone has both, could you tell me if putting down 30 USD is worth it if I already have MotoGP?

Not at all, MotoGP is by far a superior product, it came out later and there has obviously been more time spent on it. To me SBK 08 was a big disappointment.

Oops, forgot about this thread. :(

I disagree, Jambo. I ended up picking up SBK at BB last week or so and I love it. I'll admit I've never ridden any superbikes before, but the control you have over the bike in SBK is far superior to that felt in MotoGP. There is less content, yes, but the fact that I have the ability to modify the settings that actually matter on a bike (rake angle and other stuff) makes the biggest difference to me as a sim player.

But to anyone else out there who's considering buying it, I'd say give it a rent. It's good if you're gonna put the whole $30 to use, but otherwise you'll play it for 5 minutes then put in another game.

Watevaman,
Any frame rate issues?
How's the multiplayer?

I can't decide between the ps3 or 360 version.

There are some frame rate issues on certain areas of certain tracks and in the rain. It usually never slows down enough to make me mess up, but it's definitely noticeable. However, the fps is usually very constant and gives a nice sense of speed.

As for the MP, I can't say as I haven't played online yet. I've heard that the numbers are pretty low, though, and MotoGP 08 didn't have many people, either, so I'd say this would have less in NTSC regions, not sure about PAL.

Thanks,
I think I'll pick up the ps3 version soon. I've got them both in my que on goozex and that one has a longer wait. Eventually I will have both and then I expect that I'll like the 360 version better simply because of the controller. I have a better time with racing fine thumb control on the 360 pad than I do on the ps3 pad.

Does anybody still have sbk? I got this recently so wouldn't mind doing some online races or some help even to do some of the trophies online.

I just played the MotoGP 09/10 Demo and to me it just doesn't fell like riding a bike at all.
The old TT Game feels more realistic to me, the way the bike behaves in MotoGP is just ... weird. The first thought i had was "those guys (devs) must have never ridden a bike before"

In General, SBK is more of a sim, MotoGP is more arcade-ish
I'm really looking forward to SBK X, which will come out in May.
I thing I'm gonna preorder the special edition, its the same price anyway

^ +1
MotoGP is turning NFS, more arcade every time a new title is out. I still think MotoGp 07 is the last good game and they need to let THQ make the future titles.

Agree all they way, I've been playing SBK '09 a lot top bike game as is Jester TT super bikes.

Bought MotoGP 09/10 to give it a fair chance but a big fail! its going back to the shop!

SBK-X now that's looking like the dogs nuts!

MotoGP 09/10 is far from the worst bike game I have ever played but its not perfect, I agree with others saying it feels nothing like a bike, Im sure I am not alone when I say I dont want a motorbike racer to feel like a car game. Its oversimplified, accelerate, brake, and "tuck" which may as well be "nitro" (I know it needs to be here but it feels like a boost button). You never need to delve into the rear brake, theres no feeling of weight transfer, and doesnt matter what difficuly you put it on, you can take pole by over 8 seconds with a very average lap then lose 8 places at the start and struggle to take them back.

Im very much looking forward to SBKX, I prefer Superbikes anyway because I can go out and ride one if I so wished, cant do that with MotoGP. They are splitting the game into arcade and sim so it has 2 specific sets of physics ensuring everyone can access it, simulation sounds ace as said above with every kind of adjustment. Also has a better sounding career mode, MotoGP 09s seems a bit pointless and just tacked on, its cool for one season of 125s but gets very dull and repetitive after that.

I want to check out SBK X... looks pretty interesting. (whine session begin) However, if I am not able to use the directional buttons to ride the bike instead of the joystick... then I'm 🤬. That's my biggest and worst problem with the new MotoGP09/10 game. I can't ride the bike like I'm used to doing in the game. I have 4 of the original MotoGP series (need to hunt down Moto GP 3... and 08.. maybe 09/10). Never had this controller issue at all! 👎 On the developer side of things, THQ was good, and Capcom has been meh. What does Dorna need to do? Please for love of God, Moto GP Developers.... beg, plead, threaten, or whatever. Get Namco do the game again. I want my fun MotoGP back! (whine Session end) --- Randy

RacerPaul mentioned that the buttons were all map-able in the PS3 version. Which he said was unusual for PS3. So you should be in luck.
