Grello back at the Manthey garage at the Nurburgring after finishing P2
I saw Grello cross the line in P1, but it was the ROWE garage that were out on the pit wall celebrating. It was a surreal sight indeed.
I was also lucky enough to be right in front of the podium at the end of the race, and the disappointment with the crew was palpable, especially as they watching the BMW ROWE crew celebrating.
The Aston Martin that Grello tripped over was sitting yards away behind the garages looking very battered, and although only a tiny number of people (even marshalls) were likely to have seen the actual incident live, I happened to catch it live on TV as I was just stepping out of the shower at the time and caught the accident - I knew there and then that it would probably cost Grello the victory, and alas it did. So I've now seen Grello finish P2 at the N24 twice - I doubt very much that I will get to see Grello win the race in person now, but I will be watching this year on YT and hoping for better luck this year.
