Welcome to Mosport International / Autumn Ring Raceway!

Just 2 Rounds left in the Speed World Challenge Touring Car Championships. Mazda seems to have the Manufacturer's Title sewn up, but the Driver's Cup is still quite a tossup. It will be interesting to see how the endgame of the season plays out.

Track: Autumn Ring Normal
Mode: 10 lap Track Meet - Take warmup lap in 6th postion, passing prohibited until after the clock starts at S/F line of Lap 1
Deadline: 04 September 2005

Ballast weights are as published in the Summary Thread. My spreadsheet is keeping track of REWARDS weights in excess of 200kg. Any weight removed after Round 9 is reflected in the results linked above. Rather than tinker with the allowed trunk kits for the cars at this point, I'm removing REWARDS weight from the actual calculated ballast number instead of the 200kg number. This should keep the top cars heavier and meet the intent of the rules. If there are any concerns, don't hesitate to post them here.

Please post all results to Duke via PM here at GTPlanet. If someone who travels both boards could see if anybody is still running this at GT Times, please direct them here. Thanks.

Have fun and good luck!

DONE :D

Ran some practice :)

0'25.9
1'00.8

The understeer around here is awful, and my Mazda doesn't agree with the bumps :grumpy:

How's everyone else going?

im new to this track. the only time i have been here is when i need to for races in gt4. anyway i have my doubts for even the top 5 for this round. so fay my T times are:

26.1
1'01.7

as you can see comparing to luxys times im way way off pace.

I haven't even taken the TSx here yet. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to race after Wednesday night so I'm going to have to cram it in somewhere. I don't think I'll be repeating my results from last week.

well im not 100% sure if im going to be able to make this round. i just got a new job and in the first 11 days i got 1 day off. i work this friday saturday and sunday and monday. so ill try to get it in but theres no garentee. its too bad, i think i have done prity good for this challenge. if i miss this round it will kill me for any chance at the podium. anyway there still time, dont count me out. just looks like its againts me.

T1 - 25.995
T2 - 1:01.108

There seems to be several different lines through the 'left, right, left, left, right' section of the first timing segment - all of which can give similar times but none can be reliably hit every time. Ive tried softening up to see if my RSX will ride the curbs a bit better, but it just seemed to spoil the ability to change direction quickly, so i guess i'll just live with what i had.

Its nice to be back at the autumn ring, it was a favourite of mine in GT and GT2 and greatly missed in GT3 - GT4 doesn't seem to visit it much either in any of the championship series (at least so far, at 51.9%) There are a couple of corners that really catch out my RSX, the 3rd to last corner (righthander just before the pit entrance) and turn 9 which i can only describe as the lefthander-at-the-bottom-of-the-hill. Both these turns are ones that you have to turn into before you brake, but as you come off the brake, it upsets the car and it lurches into the direction of the corner. I know this can happen at any circuit, but because of the elevation and camber at these corners the problem just seems to be compounded - does anyone else have this problem?

Something strange happened last night ... after I finished my 10 laps I saved the file as usual and while watching the replay to take note of my lap times on lap 7 my BMW had a accident that never happened during my run ….. and to make it worst after he hit the wall he crossed the road and banged the other fence and he got stock for like 3 minutes

Believe me that did not happen during my run …. Now I don’t know the lap times for 7,8,9 and 10

This is unfortunate because I was planning to do the 4 hour race at the Nurburgring during the weekend and there is also the F1 race at Monza ….. in any case I will have to find the time to do this again.

I just wanted to know if this has happen to any one of you before ???

@M31: Did this happen in the Replay Theatre? This sort of thing has happened to several of us while watching the replay at the end of the race, but never while viewing a saved race in the Replay Theatre.

It happened at the replay theatre ..... I have the file saved for future reference

Hrm, that's odd. Usually a screwup in the post-race replay doesn't show up in the Replay Theatre.

I'm probably going to have to take a DNF for this because I had no time to run it before my surgery and since then I haven't been in shape to do it. But go ahead and PM me your results when you get them.

Ran my race this morning, and it went pretty well. Very minor incidents passing traffic on the first lap, a few minor offs, and a couple more minor incidents on the last lap with traffic.

My best lap was lap 4:
0'25.993 (0'25.9)
1'01.123 (1'00.8)

Which was within 0.100 of my best lap in practice at the line ... which means I left 0.300 in the last sector on my best practice lap :ouch: My worst lap was within 1.000 of my best ... yay consistency! :p

PM'ing the results to Duke now :D

EDIT:
I had the same problem watching the replay right after the race ... I haven't tried it in the replay theatre yet (edit: seems to work fine in replay theatre). If you've got the replay saved, the time in the selection screen of the replay theatre should be correct, so you don't need to re-run M31 👍

Mediocre performance from me, I lost between 7 and 11 seconds on the race time, only one of my race laps was comparable to my practice, and in practice I was running very consistently within a 0.300 range (at one point, I ran a 16 lap practice session with only one lap outside that margin!).... and my only comparable lap was at the slow end of my practice margin.

The AI were terrible for me, cost me about 3.0 - 3.5 seconds total, and that was from my race laps, not practice laps :(

I however, didn't have any problems watching my replay. (didn't use the theatre). However, I also saved the replay AFTER watching it, which is out of the ordinary for me, normally the first thing I do after the race is done is save that replay. This time I saved after watching it and recording the laps/splits.

Best splits:
0'25.743 / 1'00.849 (practice)
0'25.9 - 0'26.0 / 1'01.0 - 1'01.2 (most common from practice)
0'25.953 / 1'01.311 (race)
0'26.1 - 0'26.5 / 1'01.7 - 1'02.0 (more common in race)

See you all at LSR!

well i managed to get a bit of time this morning. my times are not great. im sure my fastest time will be someones slowest but it guess its better than no time.

Autumn Ring Raceway ….. I really enjoyed this race, my BMW fitted like a glove in it, you can have the throttle open to the max basically all the whey around.

The Ai are not a concern, the circuit is very wide and it is just a mater of anticipating their moves.

It is unfortunate that this circuit is not used in the main events like by example at the PD Cup or at the DC Championship at the extreme events, the Ai are really a challenging there.

Time submitted

Thanks Duke for stepping up and taking over for ylg

My race went ok, I had a few minor contacts with AI. This was probably my most consistent race so far:tup: but I know that I'm well off pace :yuck: .

Best practice: 26.319/1'01.227
Best race lap: 26.519/1'02.054

Well, I really didn't want to take a DNF for this round, but I didn't have much time or energy for it. I eased into seat of my Seattle car (ouch, those belts are tight across the stitches) and ran a few warmup laps before switching to the race car for my 10 lapper. Oh well, last place points are better than no points at all.

I have all the results from everybody who posted above, except quattro_bro. Has anybody heard from him?

Smoking run, as always, Luxy! You're unstoppable. And good job to the rest of the sub-14-minute crowd.
👍

Thanks Duke :sly: Nice runs, guys. Thanks to everyone who's stuck around 👍 👍 👍

I'd beeing running another challenge at Autumn Ring last week, so I had a lot more practice to find the line than I normall would have.

Wow, dose 13s are just astonishing ….. great run !!!! congratulations.

Sorry guys. My job has had me in San Fran for the past week and a half and I'll be going back for another week first thing in the a.m. If I'm able to get anything in for week 11, it will have to be on Sunday. :indiff:

Looks like some very nice times up there on the podium! 👍

Wow - good to be at the 'sharp end' for once, even if its not so sharp this round.

30kg to play with next round 👍

Duke: sorry mate, i've just checked my 'results' PM to you and realised i hadn't added my total time! - thanks for that, you should have just PM'd me and made me do the math.

Great runs everyone! Congrats to Luxy and The Missing Link for putting down some amazing times! Nice work.

Thanks again Duke 👍 👍
