School Filtered my GTP!

I want my GTP back!

I went into AutoCAD class on tuesday, all prepared not to pay any attention to what was being "taught" to us and chat with some members on GTP but when I tried to access the web site, it said that this website has been filtered due the topic of: "games." :irked:

Now what the hell am I suppose to do in class? Pay attention? Yeah right I'd rather sleep. :rolleyes:

Oh, and they pretty much did it to everything, AOL website, certain sections of Yahoo are blocked. I finally found the Bucs website to be working fine (I am a part of their webboard) and Ebay was up too.

Just thought I would complain a little.
 
Darn, you'll have to suffer like the rest of those whom don't ahve a computer to help them on tests...he he.

That would bug me, to have something censored like that, posting on GTP while taking a course I knew well was one of the saving graces of the course.
 
Exactly! GTP made it so much easier to get threw the night. Now I am forced to about the Superbowl over and over, and look at stuff I can't afford on Ebay.
 
That really sucks. I don't know what I'd do if that happened where I work. I shudder to think.

Just don't become an Ebay addict.
 
Hehe, Magic's been bitten by the "schools against kids having an enjoyable day" bug.
Bites me every day, several times. Pisses me off, but I'm kinda immune to it now.

If it's filtering GTP, how are you here now? And you can just go into the internet settings and change the filter words.
 
My school did that. They blocked pratically everything relating to games and sex(damnit). They only did that for one semester. The sex stuff is still filtered. :(
 
That's bad, Magic. :( What filtering service are they using?
 
You know, I didn't really notice. I was to busy cursing, and wondering what I was going to do with myself for three hours!

Next Tuesday I have the class again. I will let you know come Wednesday. Maybe you guys could help me out! ;)

Don't discourage! I need this help, I am dying in that class! (Besides its college, I pay for the class... have to do something extremly bad to get expelled!)
 
Yeah... I don't have Messenger on this computer anymore and to download it I'd have to log in as administrator and all that crap. And as long as I'm on the subject... this computer sucks ass and every time I try to install anything it tells me I don't have enough disk space. I can't use photoshop without closing everything up and even then I can only work on one thing at a time. All throughout the day I get the message "Your system is running low on memory bla bla bla..." But because it's my cheap computer at work and I don't own it, I don't care. It does get annoying though.

Oh... in case you were wondering, asking the system admin (my boss :irked: ) to come and see how messed up it is, is just not worth the hassle.

I can understand that! We have the same problem here. Our boss has the best computer out, and gets a new one every 6 months or so, its easy for him to think there is no problem.
 
pfffffft,.... my boss HATES computers,.... and because of it, I feal like I'm trying to move a mountain with a friggin *Tonka Truck all day :banghead:

Here's an example of my boss - "WHAT? UPGRADE? We just got new computers 2 years ago!!!!!!" "Why do we need this server thing anyway, it seems to only cause problems?",..............:rolleyes: ............ :banghead:
 
Ohh I see Magic. While I was posting here earlier I was t lunch, in the school library. Several kjds that were there at lunch got talked to by the librarian about using the net on stuff other than homework...she walked right by the E Mac I was on and didn't do anything :lol:. Probably cause I type mad fast so she thought I was typing a paper or something...

I think, when I get money, that I'll get a lap top and use the net during school. That would be great. Then if I get caught using it during class I'll just be like "I was typing the notes".
 
I don't see why not...there was this kid at school last year who had a laptop, he brought it to lunch. I didn't have any classes with him though.

Some schools in the US actually give thier students laptops for school, thier books are CDs or DVDs, and they use them in all classes. The schools say that it's a lot less weight to carry around instead of regular books, and that if the kid's sick a day, he can get the assignments sent to his laptop.

Now if Parkway stopped repainting crap purple, get working A/C and heat units, and stop buying these crappy Apples(no offence Youth Cycler :) ), they could and should do this.
 
My school has blocked off everything fun about the internet too. It is annoying, but I learned to deal with it. I just daydream in Computer Apps anyhow(most useless class ever.)
 
My school filtered a bunch of stuff too! They filtered most shockwaves and flashwaves! The only games that seem to get through are specific versions of 3d-Pong. Now THAT is a quality game!

Not as bad as my school! We have piss-pore lunch quality, high prices, and all I've seen that benefits is that we can now run our AC during the winter and the furnaces during the summer. Oh yeah, we also bought a cherry-picker(or at least something like it, but it's just the part that goes up, no truck or anything) and our library is now painted purple! Normally I felt uncomfortable in all of my schools' libraries, but now I feel extremely uncomfortable in our purple library!
