I searched for this and could not find anything so...

I was having problems with the Scirocco Superlap, and so I downloaded the #1 replay to watch and see how he/she was doing it, to check my lines, etc.

Playing the replay and watching from the behind-the-car cam I counted six times where the entire car was off the track (meaning all four wheels on the wrong side of the white line) by, in some cases, meters.

Reviewing my own (failed) replays where I was attempting to cut corners, my laps were red and not counted if even two tires were outside the white line.

Has anyone else seen the replay? Just curious, as my red laps are not counted on the scoreboard and I'm wondering how his are.

(this was last night and so the #1 spot might very well have been replaced, but if you know what I'm talking about please respond)

I watched it and I have watched GTP_BanditKarter also shred laps under stricter self imposed regulations in GTP Race Series time trials. The top guys drive the seasonals on a knifes edge and frankly will go as far out on that edge as the automated judge will let them. I was surprised a couple of times in my own laps in this seasonal when no black flag was given when I felt the car go all the way off the track. In my opinion it is legit as long as they are not black flagged. And, remember, if you participate in a seasonal and complete a lap, you are entered into the rankings. So, when the top ten pull off a hellacious lap, it hits the rankings. They couldn't keep it off if they wanted to, even if they thought that it was not "legit". If you want to watch fast drivers hitting proper lines on all of the tracks, look to the GTP Race participants who post videos. Oink83 is really a great resource. That was a good observation and question by the way....

simply, all the time trying to go in the limit of lap invalidate ( gran turismo puts the limits ), for example in gtacademy of 2013 white line was the limit... still not apply it in gt6, maybe it will to the limit of what was said previously.

If you like to play with limits written by WRS time trial, in this section of gtplanet you leave well clear where this the limit at any time, I recommend that you look at this section

Thanks, Crozzlow, for your reply. I certainly in no way mean to impugn the driving skills or ethics of banditkarter; I am not worthy to tighten his lug nuts (boy, that did not sound right...). Regarding your comment "any ...not black flagged lap is legit" -- well, take a look at these and tell me whether these are legit. Again, I don't mean to complain that he is "cheating" or there is a glitch, even, I'm just complaining that it won't let me do the same!!!

Here are two out of the six I saw:

I do not care what people are doing on the leaderboards. That said I do agree with OP that I always get my laps invalidated if my car goes past the white line even a little on the turn in the upper picture. I have to wonder the following: is the recording feature an accurate representation of the actual position of the car? Is it possible that the recorder is inaccurate? Maybe it has mis-recorded certain distances resulting in what looks like an off the course position when it was not. I remember hitting a barrier the other day at a certain angle (hitting it at almost 90 degrees hitting smack on the front end) but when I watched the replay my car was hitting it at a sharper angle (hitting at barely a 45 degree angle). I question the accuracy of the recorder at times and suspect it tries to make the lines look more smoothly driven than they were: i.e. record less data and use predictive algorithms to fill in the blanks. Someone would have to record their laps live and compare them to PD's recorded version.

Edit: I take back my statement on the first picture. I thought that was a different turn. It never occurred to me why anyone would go so far off the track in that place so I didn't recognize it properly. But yeah you can drive way off the track in that particular place.

I wish PD would put in an edge of track assist: they could include some lines we could toggle whereby we could see the official programmed edges of the track because the rules seem highly inconsistent.

The nature of the Seasonal TT's means people will use whatever doesn't red flag a lap... nothing wrong with that.

On DF however, it's strange they allow the 2 example above, but punish cutting the left before the tunnel so tightly.

PD's boundaries have never been consistent in these events, and I doubt they ever will be.

Good point -- had not considered that.

I do like being able to download the performances from the top times, it often helps a lot. In particular the FT-1 at Laguna Seca. I remember at the GT Formula time trial at Spa from GT5 helped me take of a few seconds.

And I do care what happens in the leader boards -- just not the top 50,000.

I think he is hacker...
@BanditKarter22 can you please pm disck_hash for me, I realy need it now

But anyway anything what you see now on leaderboard is legit PD's TT = PD rules :)

from those 2 pics above, i have followed those lines of bandits and not been flagged so there must be odd iregularity with certain lines, also some corners seem not to be affected by cutting and some do, think it has something to do with how much an advantage u gain by cutting corners not always time but speed aswell.

hmm i cant comment alot about this time trial cause im only at 1:26 here
but asfar as online replays go i made a test with my friend with normal races
i took my replay to his ps3 and he had the same race saved aswell
to my surprise his replay didnt exactly show the line i was doing in my replay
and my replay didnt show his line the way it was in his
also when he would be one 2 tires or drifted a bit in his replay in my replay he would still be on 4 but shifted to the side for a couple of meter or so
its kinda strange, i actually hope they fix this soon because honestly i dont like it

Interesting...I'm going to have to check that out.
Has anyone other than me watched the replay of Banditkarts? Just curious if you see the same thing.

The concrete run-off area in the second pic is always counted as part of the track in my experience. You only get flagged if you go over the grass at the beginning or end of the tunnel.

Anyway, Bandit is legit, if his game has it that way, then ours has too, except maybe if he has the GT6 MAFIA Edition:lol: PD is notorious about messing up TT's with weird boundaries... We've talked about this stuff zillions of times in GT5. Remember the snow corner cutting... the grass and turf corner cutting... the wall and barrier banging and bouncing... should i go on?

I'm flattered that you guys think I'm cheating! But no, I don't have a special edition of the game or anything, and it should be possible for everyone to exploit the track limits in the same way I do. Unless of course PD is being less strict because they think I'm a girl with a pink car... :sly:

You do have an unhealthy fascination with Taylor Swift....;)

Actually pink was considered a masculine color some time ago. It even had a small revival in the 1980's.

@Bandit: My deepest respect. I really don't know how the (insert f-word) you do it! 👍

Ah, yes, the halcyon days of Miami Vice (shudders).
Still haven't gotten &*$^% gold.

I am honored by your presence, Bandit-San!
