i thought i'd upload one of my favourite article's from an early 2000(2001?) new zealand performance car magazine.

save the pictures and zoom in, makes it easier to read.







I'll upload one of the latest issue's in the next couple of day's with the HKS R33 gtr drag car. They are one of the first to get the engine spec's etc and it is quite an interesting read aswell.
 
Awesomeness, could do without the ugly wheel covers though, but damn....Also 711hp from a 13b is pretty damn awesome, I thought he was running a 20b to get that much hp before I read the article!

WOOPS!!! I'd forgotten all about that lol:(

I'll upload it when i get home in a couple of hour's;)

I'll see what else i can dig(i think my mate might have my top secret R34 and Supra issue's).

I know i have my Veilside R34 article in my drawer, so i'll get that aswell, it's when it came down here and ran about 340km/h in the wet on one of our bumby to lane road's lol. I think it's mentioned in that article above, as the scoot was here also along with a Jun wrx and a few other's including a 300km/h MX5:D

so, i'll post them up soon, keep an eye out;)

Ahh, how the mag has changed over the years...

I usually don't like the changes, but looking back at these ancient issues I can see it's for the better!
 
lol i might add up the very first issue soon(i think it's still packed away from my shift though...) but i'll definetly upload about issue #18 i think, when it use to have v8's and the cover car is a diablo:D funny as looking back at what the cover girl's look like etc, and the supra from one of the first issue's with plain-jain "18 wheel's that cost him $18,000 lol. Man the scene has changed ALOT over the past 10 year's. From the fastest Import being a high 11 sec R33 GTR to now being a mid 7 sec R32 GTR, that's the fastest AWD in the world....hahaha.
 
Well, the page loading is kind of getting annoying. It would be wise to use thumbnails.

I was watching that video, and looking at all those highly tuned beautiful cars.

And then I thought of the mcdonalds parking lot ricer gatherings we have here. Man I really hate the American "tuning" scene.


I need to go to Japan.

I have all the issues I've ever bought/received, but I started at 19 I think...

And I remember them featuring a car with 18"s and how they hardly fit in the guards, biggest wheels ever etc. :lol:

And I remember Jane too. She was on some make-up infomercial a year or so back. Poor girl...

I also have the '99 Four & Rotor Nats on video (I think it's '99) and Justin Rood won in his blue GTi-R with an 12 flat. :lol:
 
Heh, I have all but one NZPC issue. :D

It's cool to have a flick through them and see the evolution of the NZ import scene. It's all boomed in the last 7-8 years, so reading about people getting all up in arms about 11 second passes and 18 inch wheels is pretty funny.

Maybe you should put up some of the issues with ex Japanese tuning workshop cars that have found their way over here, like that silver Blitz-built Evo 4 from a few years back that was Blitz's show car at the Japanese Auto Salon. Just to make Perfect Balance even more jealous......
 
lol, yea i'll upload some of the Japanese car's(first one will probably be the trust 700hp+ S14 that came over here when the S15 first came out)And also the tuning houses( i love the Fujita enginering article).

its even worse here in the uk..nearly all crappy hatchbacks :ouch: halfords specials, as they are known :lol: built on a budget of unemployment benefits :lol:
interesting mazda there..wheel covers never really look good on bodies like that sorta makes em look all square :crazy:

That would be awsome to see a highly tuned American car just built for the wangan. Hey that gives me an idea!
