I can't believe it but it has happened again. My setup and everything I had purchased to set my Isuzu 4200 with has disappeared like I had never done anything to the car. I had work all night fine tuning that thing for this weeks competition and now I have to start over again. I'm so bummed out, I had that thing just rocking and now it's like Ground Hog day.

Oh it doesn't happen that often but it couldn't have happened at a worst time. I guess I'm going to have to learn to save and restore my game like the guys who clone cars. I'm just a little intimidated by the whole thing and don't quit know where to start. I have backed up the entire PS3 and that took about 5 hrs and I guess it's not that bad just backing up GT5 but I'm to mental right now to go there, what a sad day.

Are you backing out of the event and manually saving in GT Life? I thought that worked for me after it happened once.

I'm not sure what I must have done if in fact it was my deal. I have never heard of a procedure that should be used, so that if it was a user error I could have avoided the problem. These consoles I thought were suppose to save before they shut down. It wasn't like it lost power so the volatile memory should have been stored on the hard drive before it quit the game.

That really sucks, Lefty, and I'm sad for you too.
That sort of thing happened to Jake, so I've been doing what Apollo said.
Again, sorry to hear that and I hope you get back on the track soon with a nice tune so we can continue racing. It's fun watching you and LittleLefty race every week. You guys help make D3 the coolest division to race in! 👍

The seasonal time trials do not initiate an auto save so if you start GT5 and only do the seasonal you must do a manual save otherwise every upgrade and tune done in that session will be lost. Happened to me as well.

I also feel for Lefty, It happened to me on week 1. After all SE's you have to manually save your data.
I to enjoy watching Lefty & son battle the board we was all pretty close, Now there drifting away into the sunset.

As for backing up your data bro.
Insert memory stick or phone with a USB lead.
Goto saved data/GT5 & hit the triangle button.
Highlight copy & press X. This will open save destination ie PSN accounts/Data storage.
So select data storage & press X.
Job done backed up.
Now lets say after you did that & gifted a car to lil Lefty.
Quit the game & goto saved data/GT5.
Delete It (NOT OFF YOUR CARD/PHONE)
Open data storage with X button. (You'll see GT5 saved data)
Press triangle & select copy.
This has now just sent you back In time to where you was before you gifted lil Lefty a car.
Hope this helps bro, I have a few back up copies here & there.

If you a playstation+ member you can also save this data to an online storage bank.

This is a fairly serious bug, IMHO!

To a player of GT5, a tuning screen is a tuning screen. It's bad enough that it has no obvious "Your settings are saved" confimation as it is and also bad that you can't create tuning setup files - Why can't I have a 500PP, 600PP and 700PP setup for a single car and load/save it individually?. I think the whole piece lags behind the quality that lies in most areas of the game in terms of what it's features are, but the fact that it loses your settings is a bonafide major bug, whereas the rest is feature improvement. I'd hope to see both things addresses in a single patch in future tbh. This has sorta turned into a rant! :nervous::ouch::sick:

Til it gets fixed, it seems Lefty has learned the hard way - sorry mate :\

Thanks guys I reset my car to Rudi's layout and then it was time to go to bed. So now I will start the calming down process using my fixes that work w/ my style. I'll methodically go over Add's step by step guide until I get comfortable w/ it so I can be prepared in the future. It's just hard to imagine that the setup file system is to difficult for PD to have already put into the game given that fact that you can have such finite adjustments for our cars in this game and can't be put into a unique file.

This has sorta turned into a rant!

I wasn't trying to go there with my sorrow and it wasn't my intention. I just wanted to let everyone know that it can happen to them and to be aware. I don't think that we use the setup capability as much as we just race stock cars in the WRS so I just wanted everyone to be on guard during these weeks that we do.

I meant that I was ranting on about missing features :)

Didn't think that you were.
