Screen crashing

GT5 has been trolling me hard as of late.

I was doing the 1000 KM Suzuka B-Spec when on lap 169 the screen just froze, but I can hear the game still going.

I lost all control though with the system. Suffice to say, What a ball breaking way to start Friday.

Did anyone else have this happen to them?

That's not something that happens in real life every day - 3 laps till winning the race and you lose because time stops

GT5 has actually been awfully kind to me throughout its life with me since release day. I've hardly been getting as many freezes as everyone has in here and I think I might be rather lucky I haven't suffered any faults yet - no save game loss, no PS3 breakdown, nothing. Not trying to boast or anything here but just saying

In all honesty, I think my fat PS3 is on its last throes. For the past couple months, it takes longer and longer to load games, save stuff, read dvds and blu rays. Maybe I'll just give it a glorious send off by doing 24 hour enduros until it can't take anymore and throw in the towel.

Good excuse to get a new slim PS3 now that the price has been further cut.

And I didn't lose actually, I kept the system on in case the game returned to normal. I crossed the line ahead by 3 laps at least, but the car just kept going around slowly after that, no hint of going to the menu after the race.

Buy the new one now so you can copy all your stuff over via ethernet cable so when the other one goes your safe.

Isn't that for PSN+ members only?
