Now i doubt other people have been ondering about thi but i have...maybe i have to much time to wonder on my hands? I don't know. I have been thinking about the type of layout for Sim mode and would like to know other peoples thoughts. Do you think they should have the GT1 and 2 style layout or the more what i recon is a user friendly GT3 style with the tune shop and not having to go to the manufactuar. Personally id like to see them continue with the GT3 style, your thoughts?

P.S. i apologise to anyone who thinks this thread is stupid

Yes, Gt3 style lay out is good...

Yeah, also the GT2's car description was easier to read. GT3's one was a bit lame with that slow scrolling thingy.

The only problem I found with GT2's menu system was it loaded too slowly. It shouldn't be a problem with the PS2 though.

Yes the ability to that is very nice and would be a good inclusion for GT4, what about manufactuer select? i quite liked the east city norht city and that, added a nice touch but i feel GT3's is simpler with the flags and the way you selct cars, cant wait for the used cars though.

GT2's layout was ok. I prefer GT3's layout better though, I liked how (unlike in GT2) you didn't have to hit the back button twice when exiting the garage. (I always pressed it once and waited for it to go back to the main Sim. mode screen, then remember I had to press it one more time.) In 3's layout all the dealers were on one screen instead 4 different one's. My

I use to do that myself sometimes...sit there witing thinking the game froze

I have a feeling it will be a cross between GT2/3.

So we have the cities with the all the different manufacturers, minus the tune shop. Then on the main menu you have the tune shop, car maintenance, testing, garage and home.

I suppose that makes some sense?

Im sort of doubtfull we will have the cities, having them all on one screen under the flags was very simple but like you said about the description, i hope you can actually read instead of it going across so fast...impossbile to read in one go for me

I found it scrolled too slowly and half the time it used the same description text for multiple cars. So you ended up waiting like 5 mins just to read about one car. As for the citys, well just have to wait and find out I suppose.

I remember the GT2 demo had a preview of the Gran turismo mode. When I saw all the different manufacturers listed I started drooling. :D

To slow for you? Maybe im just strange:odd:
I hope theres a demo for gt4 that comes out to all the other countries, something that comes with a magazine like the other GT demos. Also would love to have a look at the manufactures, i too drolled over the gt2 ones :p

I read pretty fast, in games with scrolling text (Final fantasy etc) I usually set the scrolling speed to maximum.

The GT1 demo was wierd, I remember you raced on SSR5, you had the choice of an Impreza WRC and some other car. Mind you I already had GT1 when I had that demo.

The GT2 demo got played to death, I ended up knowing rome circuit really well. I think you could be a Mustang or an Evo 5.

I didn't get to play the GT3 demo that much, but you had a choice of a Ruf or some JGTC car. And it had a timelimit.

As for GT4, well GT4P is one heck of a demo. :D

Yes it is a heck of a demo, i just want them to release a small demo for the rest of the world, like in some psx mag..i just wanna play it a little bit :p

the sound effect still remain same as from gt1 -->gt4 prologue

you mean the sound effect like when it finishes loading your memory card or something?

Have you played GT4:P?

The sounds definitely aren't the same, they sound effin awesome. When you hear the Vipers V10 idling it sounds brilliant, the Elises K series sounds spot on. The ARTA NSX's really noisy V6 revving at 9000rpm sounds awesome. Seriously I could go on and on about the Engine sounds.

I drove the Woodone Castrol supra today and it even has a completely different engine note, it has a more V8 sounding engine. Because it uses a V8 (duh?).

If you have got the game, get some new freakin' speakers.

Edit: Well, unless you meant what HSV_Coupe just said.

Race Idiot, are you trying to drive me crazy with want for GT4:P :banghead:

Yep, i'm trying to make you chip your PS2 and buy it. :D
I have some videos as well, but I need a host.

loque84: Sorry mate, I kinda missread your post and went off the handle there.

I have the money for a chip, what i need is to find a place to do it, in aus here and cant find one anywhere.

I always preferred GT1's menus to that of GT2/3, although GT3's was easier to use. Plus GT1's menu music was better :p, still it would be difficult to fit all manufacturers on a single screen :(

/Chipping/Blowing up my PS2 within next few days when damn chip arrives. Most places charge ridiculous amounts to chip em or buy a prechipped one. Which if I end up destroying mine I guess I will have to buy one. Still I'd get a nice silver one hehe.

Ahh yes GT1's music, its been so long since i last played GT1 and that music still easilly gets sung in my head..so catchy, but i can't remember GT2's...i was playing some gt3 today and still cant recall its music..gt2's was better :p

Overall I preferred GT2's layout, it awsn't as simple as GT3's but it just seemed a really nice touch to have the different dealerships in different areas. Either way I won't be too bothered GT3's is very good as well.

GT2 had a great idea with the diffrent areas for the dealerships but GT3 did have a much easier layout, I think the tune shop should deff. be a seperate location not for each dealer, Haveing the dealerships in GT3 under the country flags was a great touch, but making more like a "city" would deff. add a better touch... But just blend in both GT2 and GT3 together and they'll have a great layout, Heck why dont people make up there own layout and we'll see which one is better  :)

the one and only reason I still sometime play gt2 is the HUGE (!) value of cars.....I miss the mugen, spoon and nismo tuned cars....I also miss the midget and the used old 80´s sport car´s....i always got a little sentimental when i play that game....
....so I dont care so much how the menu´s look, just the game is fast and many cars ,then ya´ll get use to it.....I was at the first a bit dissapointed cause there wasn´t any cities (west, south etc.) in gt3 . But then I noticed how much easier it was to go and tune your car etc. *sigh*

yea they should deff continue the way GT3 was.. but yea I also miss the variety of cars from GT2 but we'll get that back and then some with GT4 I just hope they bring back the used cars and hopefully introduce a pant shop so we could paint the ugly color the used cars come in
