I saw several forummembers who had avatars of the GT3 intro.

My question: HOW do you do that? I tried several ways to import screens myself but I got a black screen and only the music was imported. :(

Please help, thanx in advance... :)

Those avatars were all made a while ago by in my opinion the original and best avatar maker on gtplanet "pako" ;) who actually made my f1 avatar that i have up now :D anyway here's the link to his site

He used a video capture card. Basically plugged the PS2's video output into a video input card in his computer. The he saved the stream to a file and chopped it up to make avatars. PS2 DVDs won't work in a standard DVD drive, because they're not standard DVDs.

DUH!!!!

allready tried capturing with a capture card (Canopus DV STORM) and I only got a black screen and only the sound was captured... :(

I captured to my video camera (Sony TRV11), then sent to my comp. via firewire, and have a clip from gt3 in a video I am working on in Adobe Premiere. I know thats not what youre asking, but try a video camera if you have one, then send to your computer.

Then I'd have to say ... you're doing something wrong. RTFM.

Have you been able to capture any other type of analog signal besides your attempt with your PS2?

I would guess you have a configuration issue with your Capture device with Software settings and/or hardware, because it should work! ;)

In adobe premerie 6.0, if the capture "type" device is not set correctly, I'll get the counter synch but only a black screen (no sound either), but seeing as how you have sound, check your cables and check them twice.

Good Luck!

BTW - your PS2 is just an analog output device. It's no different than capturing from your VCR or a TV out on your TV. :)

Can some of the video in GT3 be transferred to the PC through the USB connection? I mean if you get a freeware software package to help capture some of it would it be possible through the USB? I have a sharkport and it seems to recognize the the ps2 and memory card as a USB device.
I also tried taping with my VCR but there was snow and interference though it did not look pretty. What do you guys think?

I've just had a capture card fitted in this machine, so i'm experimenting with saving replays onto the pc and getting some snaps too.

see what happens...

Capturing from the PS2's USB to a PC's USB is not possible! (to the best of my knowlege....) ;)
