In my competition, Race 'Round the Ring for an R8, located here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=232055

There are multiple people who can not post screenshots of their lap times due to whatever reason (no capability to). Should I automatically discount their times, or would you trust the people on this forum enough to say they had a legit time?

I could have gotten 8:28.192 on my last lap, but said 8:26.192 just because. Without a screenshot, you would never know. At the same time, due to the spirit of competition, I would not actually decrease my time just for the sake of winning a car.

What do you say, should I disqualify anyone without a screenshot or allow members to post their times without one? 2 of the people that don't have the capability to post screenshots are my ps3 friends and I've traded with them. Doesn't that make them trustworthy enough?

This is an important question for me because I plan to do more races to win special cars in the future.

Because there is a prize, no. However, loading the file on a USB should be easy to do for everybody.

On the whole yes have screenshots, but as I see, Igywana dosen't have a screenshot but he is very reliable.

Is it possible to save replays and send them to your friends? Because in that case, it would be easier for people who can't post screenshots to enter.

Normally I would say screenshots only, but I just read your rules and I don't think screenshots are all that reliable in this case. For instance, a screenshot wouldn't prove that the car was unmodified or on the right tires

Indeed, you're right. This is the first time I've done this so I'm working out all the issues and I appreciate the community's help.

So do you have any ideas for a consistency check?

With a screenshot, you can show at the very least which tires the competitor was running. You are absolutely correct in stating though that a screenshot of the fastest lap(s) will not show how much the car weighed, hp, pp...etc.

Time/tires.

The only ways I can think of is to require videos including the car's setting sheet and the lap, but that would be even harder to do (and even that can be faked) so the only sure way would be to choose a slower car and allow full upgrades, racing tires etc

save replay & post it

This would be easy for everyone to do (I can't believe people doesn't have any kind of flash drive that can store 4 or 5 mb in it and have access to internet nowadays...).

The only problem would be a way to send it (replay files can get really big, not sure of the size of a simple TT replay, so it may or may not be able to be sent my e-mail, not sure of what site we could use to host them online for all to access).

I'm not sure to enter, since I'm a turtle compared to most of you guys...

if its that critical, why not host an online room and have everybody line em up and do it that way. then friend and send the winner

tried to save the file but there is no option to send to a friend, how about filming the replay and posting to you tube? only think i can think of :grumpy:

There's no option to send it to friends, you need to export the replay file then go to the PS3 game files (for GT5) and copy it to s usb flash drive, then just move it to a PC and send the file to the host by e-mail or put it in some storeage online.

Exactly ... 👍

something else I just thought of... you could use the AMG Driving Academy Special Challenge as a base for your competition because in the challenge everyone is given exactly the same car
