Scripting forum, perhaps?

I notice every once and a while someone needs help on learning PHP or Perl, etc, and they always have to go somewhere else to get help, or they just give up..

Why not make some scripting forums? Giles knows quite a bit about scripting, and i myself know a little, maybe we could moderate them if they were created...

I myself always find myself having to go to seperate forums for scripting help (mainly tutorialforums.com, or i just PM giles. ;)), and i figured "Hey, GTP already has 99% of what people want, why not make that a more reassuring 99.5, or possibly 100%?"...

Anyway, im not just itching to become a mod, i just added a simple suggestion. :)

Edit: Also, this would put the

 vb code to use. :D

It does seem like there's demand for this. I quite like helping people, but the community doesn't get much out of my PM conversations with people on the subject! 

I was under the impression that GTP5 was going to have some sort of Helpdesk forum - is this still forthcoming, or has the idea been dropped? Perhaps in the Multimedia section there could be a "Computers and Internet" forum, or something of the like, where general computer help questions could be posted and answered, and this would include web authoring.

Yeah, I suggested that and Jordan said that it was going to be implemented. Although it may make the main page look cluttered because of the amount of forums we already have.

I have no clue about programming and scripting, but probably one day I will have to learn some sort of programming language. So I think it is a good idea to put a forum where I can constantly complain that my forum/program/website is not working.
 
I would love to see one too, it would be a great place for members to pick up some handy material. Especially me!
 
So this forum sounds like it is viable.
But it should just be a general computer help forum covering all aspects of computers.

I haven't moved the Computers forum yet, but I have had plans for that. As for these scripting forums...I love the idea. I will make them new subforums of the computer forum when I get home, and then I'll move it into the Multimedia category.
