This would allow those of struggling through levels 30-40 to avoid some of the grinding whilst not distorting the low levels for new players.

So for example, each race could offer 20% of the XP needed for the next level, so someone who golds every race is guaranteed to level up each week.

So say you are like me, on Level 34 atm, next weeks seasonals would offer 441,024 XP each, whereas if you were Level 39 it would be 1,5153,346 XP each.

Would make levelling up a lot better, whilst still not making reaching the highest levels "too" quick.

Sounds a good idea because i've been stuck on 35 for what seems an eternity. I refuse to attempt the 9/24hr endurances until we can save inbetween. I didn't have to grind to get to level 35 but now im stuck at this level.

I'm lvl 34 and i want to do the Nürb 24 Hour Race with a few friends, but i think i cant reach lvl 40 in less than 4 years, so something like an exp boost would be nice :/

That's actually a really good idea, it would also please the people who feel leveling up is too easy now.

NO, NEVER, FORGET IT, etc
Sorry. I have seen this suggestion before and it is completely beyond fairness that it has never been done in a videogame before and is completely ludicrous. Imagine if jobs paid proportionally to the amount of money the worker had already saved up rather than the difficulty of the job at hand. lol

It actually makes sense. No need for huge sized words. We can all read.

This is a videogame, calm down. Have you not seen the ridiculous amounts of XP needed to get to 40 from the last couple of levels?

Yes I was being a little more emphatic because I would be shouting and raising my voice in protest.

Yes I understand the grind very very well and have done the math many many times. The levels increase by a factor of 1.28 I believe. In B-spec it takes repeating the 24 hour Le Mans 10 more times to get to level 40 (240 hours or 10 days). The level 40 races give you massive XP that you can never actually use. I am at level 38.75 in A-spec and know you have to grind A LOT. So when someone like me who doesn't want to grind (and would prefer future players not have to do the same thing I have) says this is a bad idea, it is a bad idea.

You cannot treat different people differently.

And giving higher levels more XP for performing a race which is actually easier for them to complete than a low level is pure online elitism. Those low levels will have to grind one day too. So if you increase the XP for high levels you must do so for low levels too. Everyone must get the same amount for completing the same race at the same time.

There are many other solutions to stop grinding that would be much simpler and fair for everyone:
1) lower the level of the 24 hour Nurburgring race from level 40 to level 36: so the XP can be put to actual use.
2) Possibly lower all the endurance races to a 5 level spread instead of a 16 level spread so the endurance series can be completed (seperating that goal from the level 40 goal, which is not all that significant in itself).
3) Increase the XP payouts for the License Tests (many are very difficult and worth way more than they give you) and make the payments retroactive: so those who have already completed them will get the XP automatically added to their level when the patch is downloaded.
4) Increase the XP amounts (and CR amounts) given for completing Endurance races making them much more proportional to the level differences (grinding ONLY begins after the first couple of endurance races).

These are only some possibilities, but the key is they treat everyone equally from the time the change is made.

As I don't like the XP system to begin with, I really like the fact that you can 'skip' the first 20ish levels by just completing a series of seasonal events.

From a point of view of improving the XP system however, the OP might have a point. However, I feel more for a proper redesigning of the whole system, including some of the points Hastatus has mentioned than just for a scaling of the XP of the seasonal events by itself.

But pay rises are usually a percentage of current earnings, which is what this would be so that was an analogy fail I'm afraid.

Great idea OP :)

It's not really treating people differently. Those who worked to be at level 30 or above do deserve more XP rewards. Seasonals give the opportunity of being level 20 at minimum with the highest rewarding race. It could be like a raise to a long-time worker in a company or something.

Yeah, lower levels would get an increase in XP too, proportionally lower to the higher levels. Or something.

I would imagine a low percentage of GT5 players (the die-hard fans or the really dedicated) actually do the endurances, so that might come as an issue. I agree with the Licenses though, completely. Too little XP given, unlike Special Events.

20% for each race might be a bit too much, but I do like the idea!

I would also like to see the endurance races as a separate tier so that you could do the first races much earlier in the game. Add in one or two new top tier A-spec events covering the same level requirements as the current endurance races and the game would be "perfect" for me. :)
