Seasonal Events Time Trial, Weird Stuff

I wasn't trying for the top of the leader board. I got a '93 RX7 from the used car dealer, tuned it to exactly 295 HP and 1106 kgs. and took few laps. As I used my car the HP grew to 296 but I was still allowed to enter. Why and why?

After doing my best with only HP and weight tuning I decided to buy everything else I could and see how much I could lower my time (about 1.5 seconds it turned out). After exhausting myself one night, I saved and returned the next day. My custom 20,000 cr. transmission was gone. My son confirmed that I wasn't dreaming and we had, indeed, purchased and adjusted the custom tranny the night before. What happened?

If you didn't select "install" and accidently moved the cursor over, it will be in your "items list" which is the briefcase next to your garage icon at the GT Life Home screen. Hope it's there, I've done the same thing before. Cheers.

EDIT: The added horsepower gain is normal, the engine is "breaking in" and this will gain more and more horsepower up until a certain point.
