Just curious if I'm the only one tired of seeing the leaderboards full of 2J's grrrrrr why not ban those vacuum cleaners?

Also wondering where everyone "generally" places in the events before moving on?

I doubt I'll ever get very high since I don't have the time to tune and frequently use a car other than the most popular one just to be different. Ran a 787b on the latest SPA TT and ended up somewhere in the low 10k range.

I'm kinda in the same boat. Even bothered posting in the TT34 thread. :)
Well ... you can't ban the 2J. It's a great car, different from others in many ways. It's just that it looks like that for the PP range of TT it is maybe the best suitable car. People who aim at the top will always try to use the best possible equipment the game can offer.
I also don't have the time to invest even if I somehow was waiting for such TT - The Green Hell - and it was quite fun. Also I was surprised to see myself actually making legal (not red) consecutive laps which I didn't expected as sometimes I'm a mess at the Ring. :dopey:

Well ... good TT.
It's as good as you wanna make it.

P.S.:maybe add some ballast to the restrictions? Haha. :) 💡

Haha, i agree with you completely.
I only do it for the money, then scram.

I have no idea, why PD can't make it w single make car event, with a different car each week. As every week or 2, the top 100 is full of the same car, whether it be the 2J, or the Suzuki GSXR, or in the drift trials, the Speed 12.

I don't like these Time Trials for that reason.

Like the "experience driver" seasonal events, those were great! I guess PD said "screw it, just throw togheter the same type of events and spread it out over 4 months of A-spec events". The earlier events were varied and interesting, now we get the same sloppy events week after week.

It feels like PD doesn't want me to play their game.

They don't actually need to ban the 2J, they need to ban the power limiter and possibly ballast. That or somehow limit it to 95% and 50kg or similar(would probably require a patch though). Then mix up the PP.

Just banning the car would simply bring on another car everybody uses, albeit without engine-powered downforce.

Only because the 2j is the best car to use given the requirements. And it isn't the only overused car.
The R390 road car is always used if the requirements only allowed road cars 600pp-ish
The Suzuki GSX car is always used for road cars only 500pp-ish
If you look at the Spa time trial right now, everyone is using the Puegot 905.
You can't just ban a car because people will just find the next best car and EVERYONE will use that.

I'd like to see a time trial where the car is given to us. Un-tuneable.

Like the GT-R and SLS TT's from awhile back. I loved those, it put everyone on an even playing field.

I don't
I'm more than glad that polyphony put two aspects for the time trials, tuning AND driving.
Instead of just driving

Infact, I'd say PD did a hell of a job with the time trials, with the loading and racing the ghost replay of anyone in the top 10, seeing the times of your friends, updated regularly.

I loved them also but as RedPartyhat wrote:

Good point.
The question is ... why the same and the same PP? Put some restrictions on! It's difficult to put it right but if common users online sometimes make even rooms - PD should do it aswell!

I think we should have 1 TT with a particular car/list of cars - no tunning and a 2nd - tunning with some restrictions!

I think some of the TT should be on a specific car with a specific setup, not all of them just sometimes give us some. Same for seasonal. There's so many car and many of you are using the same car all over again for 400 500 650pp so yeah having PD forcing us to use more car would be funnier. There's quite a lot of premium car, it would be nice to focus on another car each time.

Money for me, thats it. Can't be bothered to get high as its the same story every time

To keep more people happy, I think PD should have one time trial to allow tuning, and the other have everyone use the same stock car.

I have to admit that when I said to ban the car I wasn't totally serious. I understand why not and the problems it could cause if you did. Its just that the car is SO different and its not one you can obtain easily (so it seems to me anyway). And I don't get how they were allowed into the "Italian TT at Indy" a few weeks ago. That car is NOT Italian /:|

There is a group here doing "weekly skills driving challenges" that would be a great platform for the seasonal TT's.

No,
The one time trial 650 pp at Indy road course which everyone used the 2j.
and
the other was the one you were talking about, Italian road cars at Special Stage route 5.
This one had a more diverse car selection with people using the Aventador, Murciealgo, Italia, etc.

How about this...

GRAN TURISMO RALLY-style Seasonals, once a month in tandem with WRC events, same format as the Special Events, ranging in difficulty, 5 separate PD Generated stages , point to point with World Rankings.

Nothing crazy, just a new way of using what we already have.
