I absolutely HATE the Seattle course. 1&2. I can't ever put a decent time on the clock, and constantly get beat into the walls by the AI.

For instance...I ran the American Series - Amateur this past weekend. On Trial Mtn. I managed to win by 2.359 seconds. On Seattle I won by only 0.559.

Does anyone out there have a smooth un in an F094/S or /H that they could sharkport the replay out? Also the same track in a 300 or less Hp car?

I'm looking for someone who can put up better lines through the corners than I.

Thanks greatly.

Hmm... I've got no replays to speak of, but I absolutely love that course.

It has gotten to the point where it is the only course I run. I'm at the point where I only ever play vs a friend, so we've gotten a ton of practice on it.

The best time I've managed though is ~ 1.25.??

But, I just love it.

lol

Ok, so this didn't help you at all... Ok, I'll go back to lurking.

Welll, hmmm, no. I don't have a sharkport so I can't give you a vid. But I do kind of enjoy the track, so maybe you can tell me where your problems are, and I can give you my advice?

Also, which direction - clockwise (where you go UP the big hill) or counterclockwise?

I have problems with both directions. I'm not sure if it's a combo of me and this track or my inability to learn it.
Let's see...

Clockwise (jumping going up the hill)

From the start, slight left then take the 180 degree without a problem, bank the two next lefts, start slowing down slightly before the last jump. Brake hard on the last piece of the hill. smooth around the 90 degree right hand. Punch it up for a slight right, then hard brake before you take another Right hand 90. This next section up to the hiarpin I have all sorts of trouble. the 45 degree right followed by the 45 degree left for some reason I always ricochet through here. slow through the hairpin and punch it up across the stretch up the hill, slight right, down the hill. Brake hard, then through the Right 90, right 90, left 90, left 90, right 90 never bothers me. Not even the elevated tracks. Last 90 right hander, then the chicane onto the final stretch.

This is what I am talking about. I know the track, I know braking points, I just can't seem to put a good run together.

Thoughts? Car set-ups that make or break this track?

Thanks,
AO

Hrrrrm. Sure sounds like you know what you're doing. Only two bits of advice I can offer:

1) On the 45s where you have trouble, really make sure you late-apex the turns. In other words, start way outside, and cut across toward the inside curb. After you track out of the right hander, you'll be way over to the left, so continue turning and drive diagonally across the straight so you can start the left hander from over by the right side of the track. If you imagine your path as seen from above, it's kind of like you're actually making three turns: one before the actual right hander, one between the two, and one after the left hander.
2) I remember from the other thread you said that you usually lower the car all the way down. I suggest you leave your ride height about 25% up. If you go too low, there is not enough suspension travel, and the tires have to absorb all the bumps. This can murder your traction and cause the tires to bounce off the ground a little. Only go all the way down on speedway courses, where there are no curbs to nudge, and no dips or bumps in the road.
Anybody else have any input?

Neon: I ran the Beginner TT Meeting last night around this track. Using your break down, I adjusted my turning point for those corners. Also tok your recommendation for adjusting the suspension (Higher and softer). Making those fine adjustments helped. I'll work on it a bit more tomorrow night with the Amatuer Level Tourist Trophy.

Thanks,
Till later,
AO

Cool! I've never driven a TT so I can't offer any advice there.
:smilewink
But, like Lauguna, Seattle has a lot of curbs you really need to drive over to be fast, so keeping the ride height up a bit (like 25%) probably helps. Good luck!
