Anyone else having trouble? What seems strange is that I took the same C4 WRC '08 in the same track in Arcade Mode and wow, everything seems better grip, cornering, acceleration, in Arcade Mode I can easily complete a lap in the sub 4:00.xxx while in the challenge my best so far has ben 4:20, anyone experienced this?About the challenge itself, any tips? Which is the optimum torque between the wheels?

its quite simple , take ABS to 10 , and bring TCS to 2 , drive smoothly and you can win , i got gold by 10 secs , first time out

Simply changing the in game car settings are sufficient as well. Change the 4WD ratio to 45/55 or 50/50 and you will notice a huge difference.

Yes I love the physics in the Loeb challenge, feels like driving on real snow. On arcade it feels horrible, there is just too much grip.

Chamonix more than any other racetrack has a very useless gear indicator and driving line, both of which are very early and conservative. I managed to get gold in this by about 5+ seconds in an entirely stock setup.

That's because on arcade practice you have to set the grip edge to real.

Yep, this.

As for help, I set TCS to 0, ABS to 1 and SRF to on for that course and had it after one or two goes. Hardest part for me is the first section of switchbacks after the first straight. As long as I didn't DQ there I had no problem. The time isn't very hard, it's just getting to the finish without hitting a wall. At least for me.

Nope I just tried in both arcade and practice mode, made sure that grip was set on real and no skid recovery force and everything. It is much more slippery and fun in the Loeb challenge.

It pained me to enable Skid Recovery Force, but I did and was able to shave a hair under 12 seconds off of gold after countless attempts with no driving aids at all. Kept ABS off. Also wanted to point out I'm a new poster after stalking for a while now, so yeah.
