Seeign as somebody did a "First Car" thread, I thought it will be intreresting to see what everybody's second car they bought was, (i.e. the one after they won enough cash after racing a dodgy Mirage)

My second car was a [R] Legacy Sedan '93 - BRG and Yellow racemod, 384hp, 4WD - a beauty.

I cant remember what my second bought car was. There was a large gap between bought cars because as I won cars I tuned those up and raced them to win other prize cars.

Darin you make a big statement you can backup. Mustangs do not suck, they are exceptional for the price range and racing class. That said, my second car, I wasted no hesitation and went straight to RWD muscle! BTW, my second car was a 98 stang GT.

My second car was the Corvette Grand Sport, and my third was the GT40 you can buy. After that, I was set for life, basically ;p

Seeing how I started the "First car thread":D I will respond in this one too;)

If I had to pick from those 4 categories.....I would pick the Mustang, but make it a '98 dark green one please:p

I don't remember exactly which one I picked because right now I have over 450 cars, so my second car was a LOOOONNNNNGGGGGG time ago:cool:

Probably the Silvia Race Car.

The first car was either the 94 Prelude VTEC or the Toyota Supra.

My second car was the Dodge Charger for $11,000 and about 230 some hp it is a great car and the oversteer isn't too bad too. 567 Max hp is really good for the beginning of the game.

Just to head off a "what was your 3rd car thread"...

1st game: Fiat 500R, Supra turbo '93, WRX Coupe STi '98

2nd game: Pulsar GTi-R '91, Honda S2000, RX-7 Type R '98

3rd Game: Miata '93, Neon ACR, Lotus Elise (reg.)

4th game: RX-7 Infini III '90, Trueno '85, Elan S2 '90

5th game: Civic Si '93, Corolla Levin BZ-G '98, Skyline R34

6th game: Silvia K's '91, Protege Sedan '89, Mercury Cougar '99

7th game: Alto Works '97, Prelude VTEC '94, Lexus GS400

Usually, I buy a car that can fit the requirements of the first page of the Special Events: the FF, FR, MR, and 4WD races. This means that no FR car can have more than 295hp when stock, no MR nor 4WD car can have more than 345hp, etc...

Neither can I. I figued you had to start somewhere in GT2, and completely avoided the Used Car lots by mistake.

It took my wife and I about 5 hours of game time to get to the point of buying a Stage 1 turbo upgrade, and that 3500-credit Supra, to give you some idea. We were racing in the category that paid us the most for 6th place (about 300 cr.), and fully understanding that to finsh better than 20 seconds down on the leader was a moral victory.

True compassion to Gran Turismo. (Of course, look up "compassion" in the dictionary, and you'll see it's Latin for "shared suffering"/ That will give you some idea about how big a joke it was to play GT2 in that manner.)

my first one: toyota supra twin turbo (93)?
second one : a nissan -------? (it was a Racigncar and long...you could have it in 2 colors.)

Your wife plays video games....let alone the best game ever....GT2:eek:

you sir, are a lucky man;)
I haven't had any girlfriends that have liked video games, except Mario Brothers games. Chicks dig Mario for some reason:odd:

Meh, I don't think he's lucky. My wife doesn't play GT3, and that's the way I like it. 👍

She'll play War Of Monsters thought, but she sucks at it. Our boys can whip her easy.

S2000, most of the game can be done with it. I can't belive its not up there.

Quite the contrary, I am!

She doesn't play that much, she gets bored of a single game after a few hours. GT2, and later, GTA: Vice City were exceptions; we've accomplished ~90% so far (we've each passed about 50% of the game).

On the other hand, she can't quite understand why it's so necessary to have every prize car, lap every track endlessly, go on an internet forum and discuss games...

My wife and I have two TV sets side-by-side in the living room, so I can still keep her company even while playing GT. She likes to watch the pretty scenery on my TV sometimes.

I can just about follow CSI while playing GT at the same time, except sometimes I get the multiple cases mixed up. :)

CSI, eh? What about Law & Order? Sometimes it begs you to look....

(doing, doing...)

I have a pretty awesome Rx-7 right now..this is my first time playing..but I know as soon as I get some money..my next car will indeed be a mustang..american muscle all the way!

My second significant car tends to be the [R]Denso Sard Supra you win at the TM30.
But going pupik here, here are my first three purchases for five different GT2 games...
 1. red mica Toyota Supra (turbo)'93 (Cr4,225)
 2. flame red solid Mini-Cooper 1.3i
 3. Macao yellow Griffith 500
 1. red mica Toyota Supra (turbo)'93
 2. gold Toyota 2000GT'68
 3. silver Nissan Skyline GT-R'71(KPGC10)
 1. purplish silver two-tone Nissan Silvia K's '91 2000cc
 2. gold Toyota 2000GT'68 (Cr110,247)
 3. red Mazda RX-7 GT-turbo'83 (Cr5,387)
 1. blaze red Mazda RX-7 infini III'90 (Cr9,760)
 2. Maple Red Mica Metallic Diahatsu Mira TX 4WD'98
 3. red Nissan Skyline RS-X Turbo'84 (Cr6,460)
 1. red mica Toyota Supra (turbo)'93 (Cr4,225)
 2. Vogue Silver Metallic Honda del Sol S'93 (Cr5,866)
 3. Active Red Subaru Impreza WG WRX '96 (Cr13,843)

The truth is I don't see much reason to buy cars in GT2 except for historical cars--you win too many prizes anyway. In a couple of my games I didn't buy my second car for quite a long time.

Second car was a R32 GTR. Modded it to the max without getting licences art first. It was a VERY slow process.
but in the end I managed to get the racing kit.
I still got it today!

Hey guys/girls, Im new to this site and this thread caught my attention and after reading everyones choices for 1st and 2nd cars, I felt like I should throw my small collection out there too.

1) 93 Honda Civic Si hatchback 293hp (maxed out) - fully modded(not race modded)
with this car I have beat almost every race that is required 500hp and below. Not too sure how I did this, but I didnt think it was all that hard, what do you guys think?

2) 98 Mitusbishi Lancer EVO V 521hp (maxed out) - fully modded(not race modded)
with this car I tried using it on the black top races, but I couldnt keep it from spinning out, so I now use it as my rally car, which I am having some issues beating the WRX STi any advice ....anyone?

I must say this is a very cool site. and I look forward to posting more. Thanks.

Chris

Major bump, with nothing serious to contribute, but thought this last post was very funny/sad (look forward to posting more, and yet only post!) But also, nice historic posts on the first page by Pupik and others are worth the read.

As far as my second car goes, in the many times I've restarted GT2, it's always like Pupik does, something I need to win the next series (from FF to FR to MR to 4WD...)

A good second car is a Skyline. Of course. But I chose the R31 Skyline GTS-R as my second car, not one of those 4WD road missiles. I like to start with the R32 GTS25 Type S (there's a red one on day 1 for just 4958!) and earn some money with it in the GT Nationals, later stepping up to the R31 GTS-R.

My second was an '87 Skyline which I used for the first round of the Japanese Nationals and then sold immediately afterwards.

Was it the R31 GTS-R? If so you should have kept it. I think it's a really good car. It can take some of the other GT Nationals (with some power mods in place of course) with some help of the rear drive R32 GTS25 Type S which makes a great first car, and perhaps take the Euro Pacific races too, plus plenty of other races (FR Challenge and more), including some enduros.
