I don't know how many of you have ever heard of Seether, they seem to be one of those bands that get played on the radio but people still don't really know about. They started off in South Africa and I guess you would classify them as post-grunge or something to that effect. I'm terrible at classifying thing, I just consider them hard rock.
There lead singer, Shaun Morgan, was the one that dated Amy Lee from Evanescence, and is also the subject matter of "Call Me When Your Sober".
Their latest album Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces went on sale Tuesday October 23rd, owning their other albums, plus the ones when they were known as Saron Gas I figured I would get this one as well. The single "Fake It" is quite catchy and a rather good song.
Sorry to say this album is pretty much rubbish, the music is still the same angry Seether but the lyrics are awful. "Fake it" and "Six Gun Quota" are probably the only two good songs off the entire album, which is sad really since the past albums have been pretty much awesome.
The whole album has a rather Nickelback feel to as, that is to say lame. It seems many of the only reviews agree with me on this as well, Rolling Stone magazine gave it a 1.5 out of 5! This is what happens when you take drugs and alcohol out of a rock group...they become lame.
So yes, don't waste your time or money on this album. But if you are interested in Seether, I strongly recommend their other albums which are superb.
