SEGA Genesis Still Working!!!

My grandma has this SEGA Genesis that she bought from a pawn shop before I was born. The reason I tell all of you this is to say: IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!! Now I believe an average Genesis lasts ma bey 6 years. As I mentioned, my grandma bought this thing before I was born. I'm 15 years old (not old but still very long for that particular system). I also mentioned it was bought from a pawn shop. So whenever I go to my grandma's house, I sit down and play Sonic the Hedgehog 3 connected to the Sonic and Knuckles game adapter. Does anybody else have a working Genesis? Or does my grandma have the LAST working system?
This thing has never had a single tiny problem, ever.

If so than that thing would be worth A LOT OF MONEY!!!!!

Mine still works fine as well and my parents bought it for me a long time ago, I don't even remember.

All of my original gaming systems from the last 25 years work perfectly. Only my PlayStation 1 needs some love by turning it upside down to get it to load games.

I have a working NES, and a Sega as well.
My N64 works, but I need new controllers.

I got two N64 controllers at Gamestop back in May for like $10, check there if you want to get some...either that or there is always eBay.

Thanks!!!
I may have to get over there,
I miss VW Adventure racing.

Do you talk like this too? Do you start sentences and then, half way through, start shouting?

How do you know this if it was out before you were born?

Back in College (around 95 or so), we used to whang (sue me, I lack verbs) on a five or six year old Genesis between classes. Must have finished "Streets of Rage" at least three or four times a day during our break periods.

Those things are tough mothers... tougher than our Famicoms and NES/SNES cabinets... and Sega's controllers were tons better than Nintendo's.

Too bad Nintendo ran them out of business... :(

A 15 year old working console? - i've got an Atari 2600 that's 30 years old and IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!

I've got Super Sprint on the PS2. Taito Legends and Midway Arcade Treasures FTW.

Is it any good? - spent a wasted youth playing Super and Championship Sprint at the arcade. I guess that you'd really need a wheel with infinate lock to fully re-create it.

Yeah my Genesis still works pefectly too. Even the Sega CD attached to it works perfect. Hard to believe I have had it over 15 years and it STILL works! Its even been passed from me to my brother to my sister and now back to me.
Shows how they truly "Dont make things like they used to" I am on my 3rd 360 in 1 year. My girlfriend is about to be on her 2nd 360 in a year. The 360 is a very unreliable console but it has so many great games that we just have to deal with it.
BTW no they arent worth much money at all. Thats why I dont collect games. I trade them in or sell them when I am bored of the game.

Yeah, mine still works pretty good. Don't play it much, though.

It's not that big a deal, though, that it still works.

Nope. My NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 still work without any problems (aside from the usual front-loading NES stuff). Unsurprisingly, my GameCube and Wii are also problem-free.

On the other hand, my (fat) PS2 only reads about 25% of the discs we try on it, and it only reads the good ones about 25% of the time. There are also two (fat) PS2s at my friend's place that are only useful as paperweights.

All my old gaming systems still work perfectly (e.g Atari 2600, Commoodore 64, Sega Megadrive etc etc) I have not had a problematic gaming system so far. (though I havent had a Xbox 360 yet :P)

There average Genny is nigh indestructible (well, maybe not the Genny 3, but those suck anyways). Hardly worth a lot of money. Now, if you have a Pioneer Laseractive, a Nomad or a JVC X'Eye, then we can start talking.

Maybe I'm in the lucky minority but I've never had a console break down on me at all. I still have them all dating back to the VCS and all still work without a problem.

Yet to buy a 360 though...................
