So SEGA Rally Online Arcade is now 3.19 pounds on the UK PSN.
I was wondering if anyone else played it till now and could tell me if it works with a wheel, specifically a Logitech Driving Force GT.

I know the game comes with only 5 tracks and 13 cars, but I'm more interested in it for the "arcade" feel; therefor I must use a wheel, so if anyone could share information about that.
And if wheels are compatible, how's the feel? How many degrees does it turn? Force feedback intensity?

Thank you in advance to anyone answering.

I've got it, but haven't tried it with the wheel. I normally use a controller on these arcade racers, as that's what they have been based around.
I will try it tonight, and let you know. So check back tomorrow.

Supported wheels...
Logitech G25, driving force pro and driving force ex. You can adjust feedback strength, from strong, weak and off.

Awesome!
Could you tell me how much the wheel turns?
What wheel are you using?
Is it worth getting to play with wheel in your opinion?

I have a G25, it was surprisingly good. The amount the wheel turns is hard to say, but the way it plays, and the way it is set up, you don't need more than a turn, lock to lock. Its a very arcade set up, so if you have played in the arcade, its pretty much like that.
For £3.19, its not too bad. You wont be playing it for months, but it's reasonable.

Thank you man!
You told me everything I needed to know for my decision 👍

PM if you want me to hook you up with a Ticket in GT5 for helping me out :)

No need, that's what we are here for!

Does it feel like it did in the old arcades? I was obsessed with this game as a kid, I was damn good at it too! used to spend hours (on the saturn with official wheel) just playing it and trying to break all the records that the game or my dad set.

I might give it a try anyway.

Pretty much, it's an enjoyable blast for a couple of hours, every now and then. Just a shame the online is dead.

Well if you're obsessed with it and it's only 3.19 pounds, then go for it!
It's like taking a break from other racing games you may be playing at the moment.
As dhandes said, online is pretty empty. You can start online races with at least 1 other human opponent, and you can fill the room up with AI.
Online is just about fun. There's no stats or leveling up or anything. Only 2 trophies are online related (win 1 race, win 5 races) for the first one you unlock a buggy.

Controls:
- controller
- MOVE
- Driving Force EX
- Driving Force Pro (which is what the DFGT sets itself to)
- G25

Here are some shots of how the options look for the DFP/DFGT:

3 force feedback options: off/weak/strong
Weak is probably the one to go with, as the difference between this and strong is that strong makes it harder to turn the wheel.
The FFB feels good when racing: different surfaces have different feedback. And as more laps are done on a track, the muddier it will get, thus bumpier, and you'll notice a clear difference from mud and soft sand.

The wheel lock is 180 degrees.

And when playing split-screen, one player can use the wheel and another the controller.
Also both players can use wheels: I used a very old wheel for player 2. There isn't any "start" button on this wheel (which must be pressed to connect the 2nd player) but I went around this by first connecting the dualshock and pressing start, then disconnecting it and plugging in the wheel (it doesn't ask you to press start again); I wasn't able to use the pedals for this old wheel, but 2 of the buttons on the wheel were the acceleration.

It's a fantastic game, played it constant for about a month when it first came out. Got a World #1 too. :D

Same boat here wondering to part with £3 quid large or spend it on a pint of Guinness ! Does SRAO have any replay value and worth a wee punt ?

If you plan on using a wheel, then definitely!
Since now it's on sale, there's more people playing it online. And it's pretty fun, especially when everyone is around the same level. Once you learn the best line, you can leave everyone very far behind.

But for 3 pounds is good value for money (time spent playing it).

I dont have a wheel bud.... I am getting right into my driving games atm. I just dont need another 2 hour hit that no one ever plays and more bloody trophies. If its good and £ 3 ill think i'll have a dip. just looking for something casual away from this GT5 business its very serious getting....:sly:

Downloaded this at the weekend. For just over £3 quid its a steal. Its very good with and HD make over bit like outrun was. There is only a few courses and cars but its a classic arcade game and well worth a punt. My kids love it !
