Let me just say this first, yes i know i know, Nigeria rings warning bells and i can assure you that i won´t send my PS3 to Nigeria before getting paid every single dime for the PS3 and shipping costs.

but just wanted to hear your take on what i should do :) If it is one of those Nigeria letters then i really want to F with him some.

If not the good, i can sell my PS3 to a guy in Nigeria lol.

Yes, all he needs is your email account name (the one that you have signed up to PP with) to send you money. The other thing you can do is get his email account, and send him an invoice for him to pay you with.

Besides that, he's talking absolute b:censored:, and you need to tell him to go away (as politely/impolitely as you like).

Yea i think so to but i just want to see how far he will take it :)

For me it´s a safe thing since i only give him my email, something he can´t do anything with.

Ok sent this to him, have to play it right ;)

Ok no problem, just send 3.000 SEK to hampus_dh@hotmail.com over paypal and i´ll send you the PS3 as soon as the money comes in. I will pack in some games and other stuff that i don´t need that i think your son will appreciate.

444 Australian dollars.

Half of it is what the price of the PS3 i´m selling and i just checked quickly how much it would cost to send packages outside the borders and it was around 1.000, slightly more.

So 1.500kr for PS3.

Atleast 1.000 for shipping and another 500 if it now turned out to cost more then 1.000kr

IMO, it is most likely a scam, don't bother wasting your time. He will probably send you an email showing payment but nothing will show in your account.

Why would anyone send something without waiting to see if the payment clears in your bank account?

IMO, it is most likely definitely 100% scam,

Fixed for you.

Aside for that, why would someone in Scotland (which has an excellent reputation for higher education) send their son to Nigeria to study?

I know i know, but since these idiots actually make a living doing this type of stuff i´ll just ride this one out until he just can´t be arsed with it anymore.

Obviously i wont ship my PS3 to Nigeria if there´s no money in my account.

Say you'll send it to him. Ask for his Scottish address and suggest that he post it to Nigeria.

I was going to put definately but changed my post in the end. Should have kept my original message so you wouldn't need to have fixed it ;).

What difference does it make to me? If the money is there it doesn´t matter to me where i send it.

I´m just very intrigued to hear the excuse in the next reply. Will keep you updated guys i promise :)

Vuvuzela music studies.

On the other side: wait for the PayPal payment to clear and send it 46 days later - 45 days is the time limit for a dispute on PayPal. :dunce:

I'm just meant you could string him along and have a laugh at the replies he sends as he tries to explain.

Explains how it turns out to be a scam. Don't give this guy any more time of day.

Since when do buyers drop down their full address, phone number and other personal info before the seller even agreed to sell it to them? :odd:

Think of it this way, what if there's an actual well-meaning, law-abiding Nigerian trying to to buy something overseas? It must suck that there's immediate suspicion that he's some type of scammer.

I'm not saying that's the case in this instance, just throwing out some food for thought.

Well, considering in this case other people have also been scammed by a close to word-for word email.

Since Nigeria.

I can see a meme coming from that.

I don't think I need to say my thoughts, everyone else pretty much summed it up. Have fun with it I guess, or turn the tables and say you're in (insert country) and need "fill in the blank".

I don't see the point in stringing anything along. Your only making it more dangerous for yourself and wasting your time doing it. Quite clearly 100% a scam.

How do i make it dangerous for myself?

See it this way. The longer i keep this guy busy the less time he has to fool someone who don´t understand that it´s a scam.

Oddly enough I thought of that as soon as I posted it.
