You can give them your name and they'll put it on a microchip that will be sent to Mars. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me. Of course, you'll also probably go on some list and a bunch of G-men might knock on your door one day-- especially if you put your name down as Tae Mae Shu or some other ridiculous name.

My dad did this with us maybe in 2006 or so. I am out there in space somewhere 👍.

Apparently, NASA does this relatively frequently, at least allow people to submit names for all kinds of different missions. I don't know what the point of sending your name out is, but it's kind of cool I guess. However, I didn't know they are doing this again.
