From Slashdot:
NASA is preparing to send the New Horizons probe to Pluto. It will be the first earth device to get intimate with the icy planet. And you can be there too - or, at least, your name. NASA is asking everyone to send them their names, which will be attached in the space device. The New Horizons probe will be launched in January 2006 to explore Pluto and the Kuiper belt, in the outskirts of the Solar System. It is expected that the probe will return to earth in approximately 50 thousand years.

Signed myself up and printed off the certificate, thats going on my desk at work .

You would think Humanity will have the technology in the future to travel to Pluto and pick up the probe instead of waiting for 50,000 years.

Done and done. Now 50,000 years later, people will read it and wonder, "Who the **** is Sean?"
Actually, chances are they probably won't even be able to read it, at all. The Latin alphabet has existed for less than 3,000 years – we'll undoubtedly have a different alphabet in 50,000. I mean, 50,000 years ago, our language was probably "grunt 'n' point".

Still, for whatever illogical reason, I signed up. ;)

Plus the names are stored on a CD, They would probably be like "Whats this".

I am going to have myself cryogenically frozen so that i'll be around when it gets back.

I sent my name on a space probe a fw years ago. Can't remember if it was for Mars or just roaming.

You guys are years behind!

Done and done.

I also put in "Visit www.gtplanet.net".

gtplanet goes to Pluto!

I also put in Pat McGroin

Actually in like 50,000 year Pluto probably will be gone after it runs in to Neptune.
