Hi there

I've been reading, mainly pcworld magazines, and it reminded me that you can actually access other people's files via wireless networks. I've been trying to find out how, but i haven't been very successful. The wireless network setup wizard that windows gives you, requires you to plug in a flash drive to an access point. I don't seem to recall my router having a usb port, so what do i do?

Here's what i've got:

My laptop - 802.11b (centrino)
My mum's laptop - the same

Our router with built in adsl modem - 4 ethernet ports, and dsl line in

The router is a 802.11g, but it works with b aswell ( as they usually do)

So, what do i need to send files from my laptop to my mums, or vice versa?

Cheers

Jon

Yeah, i kinda tried that, but i can only access the other computer whe it's plugged into the wireless router with an ethernet cable. Once it's not, i can't access it - "The network path was not found"

EDIT

No, it works now. She just went out of range :dopey:

I think i'll lock this now.

Thanks for you help anyway :)

Oh, hang on, do i access printers in the same way?

EDIT

Did a lot of fiddling around, and realised that it was mcafee firewall blocking the commands from our router. Problem solved now, and my mum can print stuff from her computer using my printer.

Cheers all, i'll lock this now.
