I where racing in a schuffle room on Spa. I where in the lead the hole race.
But twice on the last lap i ran a litte bit too wide and got a total of 20 sec penalty. And i ended up last.
The penalties are way too sensitive on Spa.

Penalties suck no matter what track. I got a shortcut penalty for going off the track on the outside of a corner.

I had a penalty with 1 rear tire on the outside grass for less than a second

But cutting the grass on the last 2 chicane yes i can under stand, but many times i go wide on the first hairpin(turn 1) on spa and get a penalty.

I am thinking: i am going 40kmh what and am very wide what shortcut am i doing.

On spa they are way too harsh. Even think about cutting eau rouge, 10 second penalty.

When you go wide in La Source, you can get more momentum for the straight (which is, very long considering how fast Eau Rouge is). In most real-life racing series' you would be penalized too. That's the curse of removing walls and gravel from the tracks.

I don't think out side got Penalty is suck

Think on SPA, Pouhon corner outside is tarmac buffer. If run through there have no penalty, I sure all people will full throttle and drive outside the white line.

You sure this penalty is BAD?

Or You just want Kaz keep using a NOOB solution to avoid cut Track like Monza and Côte D'azur ?

Come on... this is Racing Track, not a hot wheel toy circuit

Going wide will usually result in a harsher penalty than going inside.

I understand how you feel. After doing the Ferrari seasonal so much times I got into some bad habits. I raced online at La Sarthe and I got numerous penalties which was really annoying. In the end it just makes fair racing. Remember that sometimes slow racing is fast racing, don't push too hard. 👍

Indeed. People completely cutting chicanes can get away with it but going a bit wide because of understeer and you get an insane panalty, makes no sense whatsoever.

You're supposed to be inside the track boundaries so if you go wide you're off the track and should be penalised. In reality once or twice may be excused, but if you make a system out of it to always go wide at a certain corner you will be penalised for it, regardless if it made you faster or not.

I don't think that the penalties given are bad. Its the way they are given that annoy me. You get the penalty within the second you go of the track at some points. Why not wait a few moments to see if the player gained something or allow him to give back the the position the player gained for cutting the track. Getting penalized for spinning out is extremely annoying!

I remember doing full races in f1:ce on the Canadian circuit. Always had a few moments where I was late for the last chicane. Giving back the position gained or going of the throttle would prevent a penalty.

Penalities on Spa are good.
Some tracks like Sarthe, Monza, Fuji and a few more were basically flooded with cutters prior to 2.0.

That's why this game needs a flag system so that you would get two warnings and on the third it should make you do a drive thru penalty or be blacked flaged if you don't :)

:gtpflag:

Flag system would be nice, but also very difficult to do properly. Same goes for the current penalty system, a noble attempt, but it still has issues in practice. Cutting corners still works (last lap, Trial Mountain) and it doesn't have an answer for those who don't back off the inside line of a turn and use the opportunity to push everyone else off the road. The ramming penalty only seems to come into effect when someone brakes too late behind another driver, which is usually a mistake rather than outright dirty driving.

The penalty system on the track i can deal with. I have an issue with the ramming penalty system as it is out of whack. There have been numerous times that i get hit and am issued the penalty while the guy that hit me just drives off. It is so random and unfair.

Hmm what bad habit at that track could you be talking about? Haha same here

I like the penalties on Spa. It's nothing compared to hitting a wall or getting beached in gravel like on the old track. So too bad, stay on track.

The biggest problem with any penalty system on a game is going to be the complexity in figuring out who's fault it was and if it was intentional...

Even in real life with people watching from multiple angles it's hotly contested sometimes... now try and figure out how you could write a logic based argument system to figure out if contact or a cut was intentional or not and if the penalty should be waived.

Yea I lost a race at Spa the other night because I ran wide on a corner, into the gravel for what seemed like a few milliseconds. Boom! 20s penalty, there goes the field. Last place for this guy.

Running wide shouldnt carry an extra penalty, there is already the fact that you have just missed a corner and are already in the gravel as it is.

Well if I went off onto tarmac it would be understandable, but I went off into grass and dirt on Laguna Seca, so not only was I suffering from that but then I get the damn penalty.

The penalties aren't just horrible on Spa, but I was on the Nurburgring GP and some idiot used me as brakes in a corner, and I get a collision penalty. Oh, and he drives off unaffected. Maybe there's something I'm not getting, but to me this seemed completely unfair.

I can't even begin to count the amount of times I got a penalty because someone bumped me (usually not even hard) just outside the track limits. Especially at La Source & Les Combes it happens a lot.
