The designer who became famous for designing cars that looked as fast as they were died at the age of 85.

Another famous automotive icon died.

Rip Sergio "Pinin"farina

Born in 1926, Sep. 8th, he took over the bodywork company from his dad, Battista "Pinin" Farina. In the 60's he added the nickname of his dad "Pinin" to the company's name. 2005 he became senator for life.
 
well, he had a long, full life, and he's left a legacy of some of the most beautiful cars ever penned. He done good. really good.

R.I.P. Sergio. Some of your car designs are not my cup of tea but a loss of someone like you is quite big. Thanks for all your work.
 
First time I hear his name was when my dad brought home a... :ashamed: Cadillac Allante (sp?). At the Time, that was super cool to me and that's all that mattered. Looking back I feel a bit silly since I know (and remember) what a horrible car it actually was. :ouch:

None the less, RIP.

Oh man,this is pretty sad. His legacy will for sure live on, even though lately Pininfarina was just sitting atop it's enormous name.

How are poeple meant to be happy when so many icons keep on falling? :(
