Series Races Question

Hi, all. Have had GT3 for three weeks now, and all I think about when I'm at work is getting home to get some races in before my wife gets home.

Searched the FAQ's and the forum but didn't see anything re: my question.

I'm in the Beginner's League and my question pertains to the GT World Championship Series Race. Do I have to run all 10 races in the same session? Can I run two, save, and then return for race 3? Can I rerun races in the hope of placing higher in an individual race? Can I run the races individually (out of order) and still have the results count as a series win? If I run the 10 races individually and win them all, will I still win a car? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm addicted now.

Thanks.

You can save the game after each race. You must complete all races in the series without exiting the series to win the big prize money and car. If you win the first 6-7 races, the chances are you will have enough points so you dont have to compete in the last 3-4. Just start and quit the last races. Bonus: Save before you do that and if you don't like the car that you win, reload and do it again. If you want to properly complete Begginer mode and Sim mode, all races will have to be won. You can come back and race them individually if you wish.

Welcome to GTP btw :)👍

Actually, to "complete" Beginner, Amateur, and Professional Levels, you don't actually have to win every individual race in series-required events. If you clinch the series championship, and get a gold trophy for the series (say, the Type-R or Tourist Trophy series), the [level] Complete prize screen will still show up. So you don't necessarily have to win every race (except for non-series events) to win the prize car for that level, just each series.

However, in order to win the prize cars for Simulation Mode Complete, Rally Complete, and 100% Complete you do indeed have to win every race...no exceptions!

Hello, JB23, and welcome to GTPlanet and Gran Turismo in general.

Everybody above has given you good information, but let me point out that when we say "Save", we mean using the memory card icon from the screen of yellow icons where you choose to go to the next race, or view the replay, or exit the series, etc. It should be over toward the right of your screen. This is on the screen between each race of the series.

Enjoy your stay with us, and have fun.

Nah, she's cool. But she DOES want to talk to me about her day. Hard to believe she's not that interested that it's taken me over 50 tries, and I still haven't passed the last component of my IB license :) The second car I bought, however, was exactly like the one she drives in RL; WRX Turbo Wagon. It flies; she thought that was cool and even tried to drive it in GT3 once.

I'm just about in the same boat.

My wife goes to school two evenings a week, and other than moments of "Crap! I can't go back to sleep!", I usually play GT1/2/3 when she's not around. Either that, or when she's watching something incredibly boring on TV on rainy days (quite rare actually, considering she'll watch F1 racing with me). On the other hand, I get to go home for an hour on break;' it's split between GTP and playing around with the PS2.

Another bit of advice is to save many of the GT3 prize cars you win: Many of them cannot be re-won or the color choices aren't available anywhere else. Also, print out a prize list (if you don't mind a few spoilers), so you don't buy cars you have a chance of winning anyhow.

Gday to JB23 & Mrs JB23,
Glad to hear that shes happy for you to play GT3 JB23.
That IB8 test is tricky. Lots has been written about it here so if you want some good tips I suggest you find one of those threads and read them.

Finally passedd IB, but more than a few F-bombs were dropped along the way. Surprised my next door neighbor (who introduced me to GT3) didn't hear me cursing.

:dopey: ..my wife gets mad at me, when she sees me playing this game,(sometimes till 2/3 am :indiff: ) coz i do......swear...at times...hehehe, but... i tried to get her to participate too. :scared: I let her drive the Mini at Super speed way...... she can't even go straight :ouch: ..so, i told her that if she can at least finish 5th, i'll teach her to drive a real car!!....hehehe, she gave up after a few times!! 👍 ...boys will be....boys!! :sly:

Ha ha ha, maybe you can sneak out of bed late at night and do some races, since it doesn't look like you've got a lot of free time on your hands to play GT3!

Also, glad to see you've discovered the emoticons, phonypoly. I would advise you not to overuse them, as it is somewhat annoying to read a post when every fifth word is an emoticon.

....yes sir, mr. underton, i promise not to use an :dopey: emoticon, every 5th word, from now on, ok?..................... 👍 how about every........10th word??...emoticons, give the words more......meaning!!...hehehe. hey, let's have a poll! who don't like the emoticons??let's ask the wives too ...hehehe.....please reply in kind words, or i'll get very..... emoticontional 👍

OK, boys, lets call it a day on this one, please. Anybody remember alexiy2k? He actually left GTP because GTP 5 didn't have enough emoticons for him.

💡 ...there should be smiley's of ....a guy kicking his car, smashing the windshield with a baseball bat, peeing in the gas tank, slashing the tires, painting graffiti on the hood, getting a speeding ticket, back seat... driving...etc... hehehe you know what i ...mean...?? all car related smiley's... :sly:
