Serious BUG in Nascar Challange

So I was trying for gold in last Nascar Challenges. And all appeared impossible, I just couldn't win any of them, then I noticed on hud that skid recovery was kicking in on corners and breaking me down. I tried to disable, but it wasn't possible with ingame menu and it was grayed out in menu before the race.

I guessed at first that its so by default and you should win those challenges with it on on, but after I got seriously frustrated again trying for gold, I finally found the solution. Its was freaking ABS! I always have it a 1, but there is a catch on that track. If you leave it at 1, it will also automatically enable Active steering! So disabling ABS also disabled active steering and I was able to drive through corner some 20km/h faster than before and did all Golds in few tries.

tl;dr:
Disable ABS on Nascar Challenges for a much faster car.
 
This is nothing new. People did this for the NASCAR challenges.
It even says in the tooltip for ASM that turning ABS off will turn that off aswell.
 
Not a bug, and ASM isn't active steering (or skid recovery force).
 
It doesn't matter how its called and it definitely is a bug. If you leave ABS one, it'll make those challenges impossible.

No its not a Bug! It just makes the game harder, even tought you don't have to brake on those events.

I imagine they become pretty easy with it off, then. There'll be plenty others beside me that did all the Nascar ones with ABS at 1. The SRF is annoying but you can drive round it.
 
ASM is Automatic Stability Management.

Making it impossible is not making it harder. Leaving ABS on will make it practically impossible to complete advanced Nascar challenges on gold. Whats even more illogical is that ABS shouldn't have anything to do with cornering speed, so ordinary user will leave it at default and be unnecessary frustrated by that challenge.
 
I just make all challenges gold with my sixaxis and don't even touch any of settings.Its hard but not impossible.Its also fun!Just don't steer too much!
 
Hm... Maybe its got something to do with wheel. I'll check that when I have time.
 
I love reading all the complaints to these NASCAR challenges. To me it was the easiest in the game. ABS doesnt effect the steering or traction. ASM is defaulted on because the car is difficult to drive without it. SO before each race switch it off. It doe make it harder to win with it on, but its still possible. I left ABS alone and had no issues.
 
ASM... I did it the hard way by deactivating it while doing the challange, because on the driving options is locked. If I knew it I could deactivate it with the ABS, I would do it that way. But well... I got all golds now.
 
I tried them a couple dozen times with whatever all the default settings were, couldn't win for the life of me. It was really obvious to me that my car was being slowed WAY down in the turns by at least one of the assists. Friend of mine advised me to turn off ABS completely, did so and passed the rest of the challenges on the first try, and a nice margin of victory as well. Seems odd but hey, whatever works I guess.
 
In the Advanced NASCAR challenges the ASM is forced to be on! The option to turn it off is not available and I can't beat any of the Advanced challenges because of this :grumpy:
It becomes worse when you have to pit in EVERY time you restart :scared:
Any ideas to beat these last 3 events would be appreciated.
 
Scroll down to ABS and turn it off Deol
 
Setting the ABS to 0 will automatically block the ASM
 
ABS 0 disables ASM. That's your answer.

On Nascar challenge in Extreme Series, Daytona 10 laps. I've tried it so many times and always on the last lap just before the finish line they pass me or spin me out. This was with default settings on. After few hours of me trying, I disabled ABS and beat them by nearly 10 seconds.
 
Didn't realize this would help. Wish I would have known sooner. Oh well got my hard earned golds and my free nascar.
 
But this ABS off = ASM off is only for nascar cars, right?
