Ok, i just installed SP2 and after i had done the required system reboot my PC started acting all strange. Now, after i log on the Explorer keeps restarting itself every 3 seconds and i can't do anything because of it. Only Firefox seems to work. I made sure there were no viruses or any form of spyware or trojans on my PC before i installed it so i don't think that's the problem.

What can i do to fix this? I had searched on Google for solutions but i haven't found any.

I can end the Explorer process but when i start it up again it just continues shutting itself down and restarting.

Are you running the latest stable version of IE? If not, install it. If so, try patching.
If you're on a wireless network that could be the problem, SP2 has a new way of dealing with networking.
If all else fails, just stick to firefox. If windows itself is being disobedient there is no harm in going linux.

My problem is Explorer.exe. It keeps restarting. And reformating is not an option.

Is there any way to start the "Run" window without going to Start>Run? I want to try and uninstall SP2 and i need that Run window, only the explorer keeps restarting and i can't acces it thru the Start menu.

Thanks, that helped. I have uninstalled SP2 and everything appears to be working as it should. Guess my system is just incompatible with SP2. I really wanted to try the new Windows Media Player. Ah well.

Thanks again.
