Set me straight on Toe settings

I have been looking at a lot of the tunes you all provide and can't help but notice that my toe settings seem to be opposite of what a lot of you use. I generally set a similar setting for this on all my cars and have some success with the toe settings i use, but i can't help thinking i am all wrong.

I usually have a +.1 on my front toe and negative, sometimes up to -.4, toe on the rear. I find that setting the rear with a negative toe helps me get the car around the corners a little faster or at least help with understeer. Am I way off?
 
I recommend clicking the sticky Tuning Guides at the top of the page. Scaff's guide explains toe much better and in greater detail than any of us can.
