Hello everyone,
I just downloadd spec 2 after its release and honestly haven't played Gt5 since shift 2 came out.

I have a question regarding the settings that are used by the majority here. I have to get used to driving Gt5 again and I am having some diffulticulties switching from shift 2.

Most people seem to have everything "off" when they talk about assists. I understand about the the slide recovery, but the traction control and the abs I don't. Most cars these days have these options. Would it more realistic to keep these on? If so, which setting would be the most accurate when comparing to real world vehicles? I know that the default setting is 5 for Tcs, would you think that is a real accurate setting?
I eventually would like to try online racing but I have some concerns that if i left the settings at default, as in the tcs and abs, they would not be the same as the other opponents. So it would not be fair or i do not even know if I'd be allowed in the first place.

thanks.

The better a driver you are the less TCS you should use, IRL TCS doesn't exactly always limit throttle output, It decides which wheel to put the power to or may retard timing in the motor (no offense intended). In the game however it limits your throttle compared to how much you are turning and how much throttle you give it.

Turning it off makes you very quick compared to having it on if you are at least somewhat skilled.

If I were you I would turn all aids off except abs and srf, and eventually work your way to no aids

However when you turn abs off, you need to turn your brakes to 1, more rear brake= oversteer on entry and vice versa, less rearbrake= understeer on entry

IRL, oversteer on entry creates understeer on exit (also known as the tight-loose condition)and vice versa

as for other cars having abs, it still turns it off, so either way slowly work yourself out of your comfort zone, If you are too comfortable you aren't going as fast as you could possibly go

Hope that helped

Abs 1 is what everyone uses only just to make the brakes not lock up. All other aids will slow you down like crazy. Traction control slows you down when you don't want it and the more powerful the car the more it will slow you down. Obviously this is not what you want so just turning it off is the best thing to do. The key to racing is to slowly press the gas. If you just slam on it full after a turn the tires are gonna spin and the car will skid or you will go too fast straight causing understeer and most likely hitting the wall. Just practice driving more and be slow on the gas. Eventually you will understand when to apply it and get used to how hard to apply depending on the car.
