So, it's been quite some time after update 1.71.
Once the update was istalled, I immediately noticed something about Force Feedback on my RS50 in GT7 that was not the case before, and I would LOVE Polyphony Digital to find out about this:
When using certain wheelbases (like my Logitech RS50, or Thrustmaster T598), the wheel feels very heavy, like someone has added a lot of artificial dampening or A LOT of friction effect. The automatic self-centering is almost non-existent as a result, making it practically impossible to catch slides or drift (which is VERY important for me!).
This is applicable for ANY car and ANY tuning setup! And there is definitely a sign that this is not simply due to "well this is how physics work now, no worries"....
I did not feel this stuff before the 1.71 update and I saw quite some comments from RS50 users and, unexpectedly, Thrustmaster T598 users
My post on Reddit with other people's comments can be found here -
I contacted Logitech to sort out this issue, I did a video recording and some extra tests for them.
But they are saying there is nothing they can do. Hopefully they can at least contact PD developers somehow and report this issue to them
As for the issue with Logitech RS50 in specific:
IF you also have such an issue on your wheel, please let me know.
The general question for now is how can we share this info to GT7 developers?
I really hope at least creating this post here can help PD noticing this...
Also, did any of you communicate issues with GT7 via Playstation Support before? Did it work?

As for the issue with Logitech RS50 in specific:
- When the wheelbase is set to RS Mode, the dampening is incredibly high and cannot be overridden by the wheelbase's internal base settings nor with in-game settings. Even if you set Max FFB in the game to 1 and Dampener value on the base to 0, the wheel still feels heavy
- The artificial dampener/friction is so bad that it actually impacts all other FFB effects, reducing their precense, this is especially obvious for wheel self-centering, and catching slides is artificially harder due to the same issue - wheel is just to heavy.
- The Workaround for RS50: Switching the wheelbase Compatibility mode from RS to PRO fixes the issue and restores normal wheel weight and speed for self-centering. This proves that the problem lies entirely within how GT7 sends FFB data to RS50 wheel in RS compatibility mode.
