Everyone has a interesting, insane or cool car story. The majority of people on this forum are petrol heads, and our cars have given us many experiences.

I will start with a couple...

My father has a Cobra replica, and when he first built it and got it on the road back in 2003, I was 7 years old.

On the way back from Duxford Air Museum, where a National kit car show had just been held, the heavens opened and it was absolutely pouring down. We were driving along on the motorway and could not see a thing, getting absolutely soaked. Eventually, things got too bad and we had to pull over onto the hard shoulder. The roof went up, (which on Cobra's is more like a canvas hat) and we set off again, now instead of being blinded by rain in our eyes and covering the windscreen, we were blinded by the now misty windscreen and the torrential rain. How we made it home I will never know. I have never been more scared in my life.

Now a similar story from the summer of 2011. Same car, similar scenario. My prom was coming up and the Cobra was currently without an engine. My dad had purchased a custom made 5.4L V8 for it the car was in the process of being put back together. It was still not taxed and had no MOT due to being off of the road in the winter and spring. A day before my prom, the car was finally put back together. An MOT was booked the day before, and me and my dad got ready to take the car down there. Ignition on... push the starter button... nothing. The Starter motor was playing up. We finally got it started by wiring a battery to the starter motor, and we were off. When we arrived at the MOT bay, it became apparent that the cooling fans were not working, and so an emissions test could not be carried out. This meant that it failed the MOT. We began to drive home, when, of course, the heavens opened again. And again, it was torrential.

Do we pull over to wait for it to stop? We cannot leave the engine running whilst pulled over because the fans are not working so the engine will overheat. And we cannot turn the engine off because the starter motor will not turn the engine over again. So, we were forced to keep driving in a 400BHP per tonne car in what can only be described as a monsoon. I was rather scared...

Anyway, we managed to rebook an MOT for the next day, the fans were fixed and she passed. I was taken to prom in the car.

Now it's your turn, what are your best car stories?

I was at my moms new shake salon she owns as she had only had it for about 2 years. At this point my father still had the truck on the road and it was daily driven. This happened in 2005 ish or so. Anyways one of the neighbor kids came up to me and said "Dude, does your dad have a monster truck??" I looked at him and was like uh no lol.

A few years ago I went with my parents over to Germany with our (then) Mustang and Lightning. There was a European SVT meet in Hanover, our 3rd time going there.
On the sunday we headed over to a proving ground owned by Continental tyres. There was a stretch of autobahn which was unrestricted so my dad put hid foot down, I recorded the speedometer and we saw 200km/h (car was Canadian) out of there before having to back off.
When we got there, there was a German car magazine testing a few supercars and I was lucky enough to go around in a tuned 700hp Porsche 911. Can't remember what it was properly called. It was an incredible machine.

After they left we had the track to ourselves for 30 mins. I took my mums Lightning around and had my first taste of track driving before even getting my license! My mum was pretty scared when I floored it on the straight. ;)
