Shared car - appeared as owned in loaded account

Ok so I have a Z06 RM shared from my main account on my PS3 to my 2nd account on the same box. I noticed the other day that on the 2nd March the Z06 is now actually part of the 2nd account's garage!!!

How I managed that I have no idea - we have a gifting work-around if I manage to replicate it again!!

I might have to have a play later with different combinations of sharing/switching cars/unsharing/restoring-saves/etc to see if I can get another car to 'dupe' across!!

PS: and NO I didn't gift it across as I had been busy gifting >1 million cars before the deadline.

Good luck to you if can manage to find a "gifting" work around. I'll want to know if I can duplicate my cars again.:)

The settings of the Z06 are exactly the same modifications I made from the primary account! So it's definitely a dupe via the sharing system. Just need to work out how I did it.

Shared cars do appear in your garage of the account that's doing the borrowing. Try and open GT Auto or the Parts Shop while in the borrowed car. If you can, there may be a glitch we can exploit. Or try changing to another car that's genuinely owned by the 2nd account. Does the borrowed car disappear from the garage (it should do), or is it still there?
 
maybe you should turn off your modem after borrowing a car..
im just guessing ... ill have to try this tomorrow
 
Is the car still shared or did you unshare it while you were borrowing it?
 
I have a shared Civic currently being used on another account. I'll try unsharing it.
 
I think it is just because both of your accounts are on the same PS3 so it probably thinks you just want to move it to that account.

No luck yet. Been playing about for a while now.

Looks like when you borrow a car it takes a copy and allocates it as borrowed (in red). Getting it to change that status was probably just a glitch when I saved and restored the account.

Either way i will keep an eye out as I lend a lot to my 2nd account, and if it happened once...
