Hey yall, I have broadband, my regular download speeds are 50 to 70 kbp/s but when I want to download the BMW Series 1 video from amar my download speed drops hugely to 0.3 kbp/s, why is that????????' and the strange thing is that the speed drops only with that video........ pls help me, what can I do, or why is it happening?????? :guilty: :guilty:
 
Man ive tried to download that video for about 1 week and a half and cant download it because of the download speed......... =(

You need to read that entire thread. It explains how to correct any problems you might have with it. So, go back, and read the entire thread.
 
...boahhh boy i needed about one week (5 downloads)for this video too!!!
...u just need a big piece of LUCK to get this video when everybody is sleppin for example so that the traffic isn´t that full(try it at 4:30am!)!!!
...the video is very good ok it goes fast forward every five seconds or so cuz the film is longer than the soundso the film has to bring its size into a line with the size of the sound but as i said it´s terrific!!!
 
what he should have done is split the video into 4mb parts or something with a programme called HJ Split then people can download all the smaller sizes til they have em all then join them back up with HJ Split
 
...yeah i thought of the idea to "cut this very big thing into 4 or 5 smaller parts(then they would be 88 to maximum 110 MB!!!)and that would be very very easier to download!!!
 
exactly and HJ Split is the best program I have found for doing it, unfortunatly due to the size of the file even with a 1mb BB connection the file is just too big and on such a busy server it would take weeks to download
 
Maybe a download accelerator whould help.

It really increase the speed a lot, cus it opens like 8 connections to the server. meanwhile the default winXP,2000,98 ect... just open 1 connection.

For me, its often a difference between 300-400kb/s with the accelerator compared to the default. (i have 10mbps)

Opening multiple connections is increasingly frowned upon.

If you're struggling with GTP's file, try a mirror or the BitTorrent seed that was started. Search the BMW thread to find the links, and post in the relevant thread in future, or search first - numerous problems with downloads have been reported and answered in the Questions and Comments forum.
 
Actually you should find all of our downloads from GTPlanet up to speed again. I'm consistently getting 300+ KB/sec.
