Will this car EVER appear in Gran Turismo? I've run into other iterations of the Shelby Cobra's, but never the GT500 in GT as of yet. :irked:

So far, the only game I've seen with it happens to be the mediocre R: Racing Evolution. Hopefully to God, Polyphony decides to include this stellar (and waiting to be raped---'er modded) vehicle. :O

Hmmm hopefully, but what about the shelby concept?

There was a GT500 in GT2. All Shelby's would be cool to have in GT4.

I think the new concept looks ok, but it's not a patch on the original design.

I would've prefered a fastback version instead of the convertible GT500 that was in GT2, also maybe in gray with 2 black stripes going across it. *cough* "Eleanor" *cough* :D

they did have an "eleanor"-like car in GT2. If you race-modified the GT350, you got a shelby with a bodykit that looks surprisingly close to Eleanor.

Also if I remember correctly, Eleanor was never a real car until after 60 seconds came out. The body kit on Eleanor was made specially for the movie and was a somewhat modernized version of the the GT500.

Anyway, you can now buy Eleanor so its all good... hehe http://www.sandersonsales.com/eleanor.html

Yes, the Eleanor was unique with it's kit, it wasn't that different from the stock form but it was noticable. It was based on a different model year to the GT500 in GT2 as well I think.

I remember there being a GT500 in GT2, but never the specific "Cobra GT 500". Have you ever seen the anime or read the manga, Gunsmith Cats. The car stars in this OVA series and since then I've fallen in love with it.

R: Racing evolution had a racing version of the car, but it wasn't too recognizable. I do know that the 1960 Chevy Camaro looks slightly similar, but it is NOT a convertible. At least, not the model that I'm speaking of.

I doubt it. The GT500 there was most likely the Mustang, not the Cobra. I have all of the Shelby's in the game and have never run into this classic 67-68 model.

Hopefully I'm wrong though, but I sincerely wish that this car is included within GT4. I'll pray.

Whoa, whoa, I just checked Fast autos. net. Apparently, the Cobra is called the "Cobra" because of its engine. The Mustang GT 500 is infact the Cobra GT 500, just its variable name.

"The '68 GT-500 featured a new split-scoop hood, rectangular headlights pushed outward, and chrome-trimmed taillights. With the introduction of Ford's Cobra Jet GT engine, production of the GT-500 ended and Shelby began producing the GT-500 KR midway through 1968. At total of 1140 GT-500 fastbacks and 402 GT-500 convertibles were built for 1968. "

Aaaaaaaaalright, one more time.
Apparently it is the specific '67 model. Sorry about before, guys; I was wrong about that.

This is it without the vertical stripes.

A total of 2,048 GT-500's were made in 1967. The '67 model featured large fog lights in the center grill.

I found another source that says the Cobra is 335hp. But at least I've gotten a foothold on the true car model. Sorry for the inconvenience, guys.
