Well I have not found any write ups on this car any where in the forum.
I bought this to run the Shelby race's, since I already had the AC version
of the Cobra, did not want to buy another just to run this series.
I also thought I might try it in the Supercar Festival if it did well.
So with that in mind I fully modded the car.

All the HP goodies - plus oil change = 617HP
Stage 2 wieght reduction - no roll cage
Full everything on the drivetrain - no change to anything
Full race suspension
SR - Front= 10 Rear= 8.6
Ride Height = 94 & 94
Shocks bound & rebound = default (8)
Camber angle front = 2.6 rear = 1.6
Toe = 0 &0
stab = 5 & 5

Tires - a-spec S2, always bright green at and of race.
b-spec S3, only way my wife could drive and win all the races.

Man this car flat out runs and handles. Smoked all the Shelby races.
And was I in for a surprise, nothing could touch it on the Supercar
Festival in the Pro Series. :dopey: Very strong through out it's power
range, good braking (I use stock), and will take the curves like no tomorrow.
Which is good for me, because I'm not a great driver.

Any way I thought this car deserved a write up, so here it is. 👍 👍

this car stock, is a monster. You can get 200 aspec points per race in the shelby series with no upgrading whatsoever.

one thing i noticed about this car is that in the dealer specks it's rated a 305 hp. The regular Shelby Series 1 has an n/a arrora V8 producing 305 hp, but the Series 1 supercharged has a ,get this, supercharged version of that 4.0 liter engine producing 450 hp. It says it's a Series 1 supercharged, but it has the n/a power figures. Oh well, just another "4WD lightning" I guess.

The Shelby series is easy to get 200 points a race out of. Not with the cobra, but with the series 1, as well as the shelby mustang.

:) Did not even think to try it stock, which is what I normally do. I'm at over
60% complete and just don't care about a-spec points anymore.
The car was a total surprise when it came to taking on the Cien. I had tried the
'05 mustang and ate the tires up trying to catch the Cien. Also tried my M3 and did not like the way it handled the first race. Tried a few others and decided to give this Shelby a chance. Very pleased is all I can say.

Yeah, this is by far the easiest 200p I've gotten (exept the RAM...).

Thanx for the tip on this car. I had been avoiding it because the GT3 version was an utter pig for handling and braking. I think I'll have to go get one now based on the good reviews here.

I remember driving up behind one of those things in a race.
It appeared to have like 10-20º of camber on the rear. Ive never driven it, I was just wondering what that was all about...

Shouldnt this thread be in the GT4 car tuning and settings forum?

:) Well I was not sure where to post this, so I put it here. It could most likely
go in the tuning\settings forum but I was not trying to post a tune for this car.
It could have went to the write-up forums also. All I was trying to do was to
relate to others a somewhat hidden surprise, considering there has been no mention of this car (as far as the search feature goes).
I guess my point here is that this is one hell of a car that needs very little tuneing.

The reason its NA tunable is because after you supercharge a car, the only mods that are left, other than engine work is pulleys n other small stuff. The only way to gain a significant increase in horsepower would be to change internals n such.

No, you missunderstood me. Their are two real world versions of this car. One is the "Series 1", the other is the "Series 1 supercharged". The "Series 1" has 305 hp in real life. The "Series 1 supercharged" has 450 hp in real life. The car in the game is named the "Series 1 supercharged", but it has the power figures if the regular n/a "Series 1".

To my knowledge, oddly enough the only cars that can recieve a supercharger upgrade in the game a n/a cars. Supercharged cars cant. If the Series 1 in game can be upgraded with a supercharger, then the stock one is not supercharged at all, and the name is just wrong. it's just a "Series 1", not a "Series 1 supercharged". However if they have it labled as supercharged and just forgot to change the HP figures from GT2 (some of you say it was in GT3) then that leaves more to be questioned. Did they just slap the word supercharged onto the end of the name and forget to change the power figures, or did they remap the engine characteristicts as well but forgot to change the displayed HP in the dealership? Well whatever happened one aspect or the other is wrong.

Yup! I recall it was even used in one of the license tests, but I could be wrong. And it sukked.

The Shelby Series 1 was not in GT3, but in fact, in GT2. And I don't recall any license-test appearances. And although it was overpriced, it was rather fun to mess with (there were no C5 'Vettes in that game, so the S1 was as close as you could get).
