So, I tried to do the Modern A Invitational for the McLaren MP4, and it took be a while to get used to the handing and not have someone touch my car. But, I noticed quickly, that Shift 2 REALLLLLLLLLY doesn't like the Nordslief. It started with simply graphical slowing. Then there was some MAJOR glitching and finally, it froze. So be warned, if you do this race, finish it as quickly as you can. And stay away from the track in this game.

Hm...I was running this event maybe 20-25 time in a row, no glitches, no freezing, except I couldnt win for the longest time :) I'm on PC btw. Not sure what you've got

PS3? PC? 360? I don't recall any problems in that race, other than the AI being staggeringly fast.

Yeah, fast and utterly annoying when you try to overtake.

No problems on my end, but I only ran that invitational a few times until I beat it, and haven't driven on the Nordschleife since. PS3, btw.

Yeah, but that can be alleviated by learning how they drive a bit. They usually brake early, get off the brakes early, carry decent speed through the corner and get on the gas early for a very fast exit. Usually I find if I slip down the inside of them under braking it's OK as long as I leave them room on the exit. If you try and cut them off they'll probably tap you. Once you get a nose in front they'll often back off and slip in behind you. Until you cock up the next corner and they slip one up the inside. Have I mentioned that I love the AI? It's not flawless, but it's better to race against than most normal people.

The Ring is always going to be hard because it's narrow though. That's part of the fun. Nothing beats finally managing to slip round the outside in the twisty stuff.

I managed to stay untill the end. Needless to say I was far form the first place...

On my PS3(fat fw 3.60) I did NOT have any of those problems or blown engines or any glitches as a matter of fact. I do try to go as fast as I can hence the "tatoos" on the outised of the car.. I've tried the event a couple of times without any problem.

My real problem is that i'm not good enough to handle that awesome car around the Ring... :ouch:

I was on PS3. I don't know. It might just be you can only play the game for a few hours before it glitches and freezes. I've had it freeze twice so far.

.

I'm loving the AI too. you can hear them getting closer and you do your best to keep cool and hit each corner perfect so they don't pass. very exciting racing, one of the races I had to do like 15 times because I couldn't get 1st because of that damn Maserati was so fast. I won by a hair (saved the reply), we were on the straight to the finish and I had nitrous held down and I was a hair in front, I don't remember what happened next but we touched and went spinning and I just crossed the line spinning out when the rest of the field was a hair behind. I couldn't believe I won that race that way.

game really keeps you on the edge of your seat:tup:

This is the track that I play in Shift 2 the most. I usually do it in 'quick play' race or time attack modes.

I haven't encountered a single problem like this. Just offering an alternative perspective.
