My skyline was doing fine in previous races, but when I got to SSR5 I realised I had heavy understeer when I tried to corner as fast as my rivals. To make matters worse, the lead car always seemed to have a higher top speed down the straights. I simply couldn't win.
Solution? Elimate understeer by keeping the weight on the front tires with speed drifting. Here is the result:
*Video Removed* UPDATE: After further testing I found that drifting is not faster than grip driving. The fastest driving involves weight transfer like drifting, but without the traction loss. Thanks to all those that replied and corrected me.

Speed drifting (invented by Keiichi Tsuchiya ) is a form of drifting with minimal-angle and minimal-countersteer. It keeps the weight at front and allows the car to enter and exit corners at higher speeds, eliminating understeer. Although it doesn't look as impressive as show drifting, the car does slide on all four tires. Its application is limited for racing, but in this case, it made the car much faster. Test it for yourself:
