Even though you don't get any new events, new prizes or anything; still levels above 40 should be reflected in your profile. It would be easy enough for PD to do. You still get XP for everything you do. It should be reflected and here's why!

As a sign of accomplishment for those who've played the game a long time. People who've played "religiously" since it came out would probably be lvl 100 now. Why shouldn't they get that recognition? How about the top 10 even receive a free copy of GT6 when it come out! 👍

Agreed. Level 100 would take along time with the current XP system.
Side note... I'm also in Jax, nice to see a fellow Floridian.

I don't think so. It takes 34.6 Mio points to reach Lv40 and 408 Mio to get to Lv50. Imagine Lv 100...

I'd personally prefer the xp points to be converted in credits.

What I don't get is I've completed the game now and just done the 24h nurburgring. Tough going over the weekend 10 hrs, 8 hrs and finally 6hrs in the Bentley Great sense of achievement when you've done it, loads of XP but none of it counts as you need to be at 40 to enter but at 40 your XP stops !
Something to look forward to is racing when the sun comes up. Its beautiful

I'm with the OP on this one, PD and other game developers included need to start pumping out some creativity and innovation. Holy crap, it's 2011 and the games today blow.

Very good idea, and I think PD should include this change in one of the updates.

Unfortunately its too late now for PD to introduce something like this as it would be publically admitting they had got it wrong and even more grosely unfair on all those people that achieved level 40 many moons back. Although its a good idea maybe GT6.

PD should take GT4, give it GT5's physics and graphics engine, update all cars to premium, and re-release it...:) I would be totally ok with 'standard' tracks.

They should let us go higher in level. They could still reward us with prize cars and special paints for every few levels.

That's true! There are so many cars in the game it wouldn't hurt a thing!

+1. Not a big fan of having levels to begin with, though. Perhaps I would be if it were more a measure of skill rather than game completion.

At the current pace, that's not even close to possible. Using a multiplier of 1.28 (as that's what it is (give or take) for the first 40), to get to level 100, you'd need... wait for it... 93,784,710,698,561 XP. Yes, that's 93.784 trillion. Running the highest XP/minute race, the 4 hour Nurburgring endurance (8600/minute), non-stop since GT5's release (currently 189 days), which wouldn't be possible for numerous reasons, would get you up to a grand total of 2,340,576,000, or 93.782 trillion short.

If that doesn't sink in, let's put it a different way. It would take 20,748 years.

So right before GT6 is released.

Clearly if they choose to continue the levels, the multiplier would have to be adjusted after level 40. :scared:

I'm level 40 A-spec and B-spec, and it means nothing to me... Having all of the cars to races with in arcade mode is all that I care about.

I think 40 levels is a good start, but what if it was setup like some of the other games where you could prestige to the next tier. When you prestige to the next tier you would unlock different paint schemes, upgrades for your vehicles and unlock some new events.

Well, that puts things into perspective  .

I also think there should be additional levels. But then the same argument arises for credits. "There should be a higher credit cap."

I guess we can't have everything..

More vehicle upgrades?

No.

Talk about segregation.

I hear ya! I guess they figured we wouldn't get to 40 so fast, cause GT6 ain't out yet!

LOTS of good ideas! And...how long did it take us to think about it once the question was posed? Come on PD! Get with it!

I was thinking there would be a bonus level, because there is room for another banner above Endurance.

Wait does that mean when you get too level 40 A-spec the free car every 1000miles/100 races stops..
A thats bad news for me..as im on A spec 37.

Levels in GT5 just unlock more events, so going beyond level 40 would be pointless as you'd gain nothing from it except a larger e-johnson. It's not an MMO where level actually counts for something. Well, I guess B-Spec drivers gain something from levels but that's it really.
