What's up GT fans! :D I wanted to ask a simple question. Should GT5 be re-reviewed after future updates? Most of the mixed-to-positive reviews were do to the A.I. and mechanical damage. So, after updates should GT5 be re-reviewed as I said?

no because patch updates will be constantly updating the game so it will always change, on top of that offline users who read the review will think that features only available when you update will be available on the disc when that wouldn't be the case so would be misleading, gt5 should be reviewed as is.

I don't know many "pro" sites that do that. Small sites may do something informal afterwards, more like an editorial, but usually what you put out on day one is how it's getting reviewed.

I would like to see the sites touch on some changes in the updates, but re reviewed I hardly think so... games get released and that's what the sites review. The last thing I think we should promote is releasing unfinished products expecting a second chance at a first impression down the road.

It's also important to remember that those without internet (specifically broadband) are stuck with the game that came in the box. This was painfully obvious to me when I went to my buddies house who doesn't have internet right now and we had the stupid "slam on teh brakes every time you touch someones bumper" issue... ruins the NASCAR bumpdraft entirely.

BTW I somehow don't think we will see an AI change via update.

I believe if they do it most likely will be to review the extended or updated content only, and even then it wont address the core gameplay most probably. I for one am very satisfied with its metacritic score. The game has nothing new really and has some half-done features. from a franchise that has been so great in the past, its really a low point for Polyphony.

sad yet very true :grumpy:

I don't know why it's such a big deal for people to change a score AFTER it's been posted. What's done is done. If you don't like a game's review score then don't read the reviews, if you enjoy the game (Which I do) play it til your heart's content. Don't get down from other people's opinions, it's yours that matters.

Eurogamer often re-review MMOs after a year or more. MMOs can improve drastically after release, so I think this is a good idea. If the intention is to have a lot of updates of a game long after it was released, then a re-review is in place when some good amount of time has passed. If GT5 recieves a lot of updates that's something more a few tweaks, I think it should be re-reviewed in a year or so, but not sooner - unless there's a huge patch this month that changes everything.

I think MMO's are a different beast entirely and are likely to change as much or more than a sequal to a game from it's original. So re reviews are reasonable there...

It's kind of like the difference between a movie and a TV series...

I don't care what score the game got in reviews. I like it, and that's all that matters to me.
