Should i buy dirt 2?

Reading and watching all this hype about the upcoming release of dirt 3, i personally have not tried out any of the games in the series. After watching one of the videos online with that jungle course on dirt 2, the sense of speed really got me. Question here is, should i ditch out the money to pick up Dirt 2 or wait till Dirt 3 arrives in about a month or so?
 
If you can pick up Dirt 2 for cheap, get it. 👍 Note that point-to-point rally is only a small portion of the game though.
 
Yeah, do it. I still play Dirt and Dirt 2 and they are really cheap now.

If you like the look of and think you'll enjoy all the rally, xCross, buggy, Raid trucks or trailblazer modes, then you'll always have them to play later on. I'm not sure how much longer the online will be available for though, it vanished pretty quickly for Dirt after Dirt 2 came out.

The tracks are fine and there is plenty of variety.

Which is the real reason to why i want to get Dirt 3. I'm going to try and call a few of my local game stores to see if they have one pre-owned in. Thanks!
 
I liked the first dirt much better then dirt 2. If I was you I would just get the first one, and not even worry about dirt 2.
 
It's probably really cheap by now, especially used...I don't see any reason not to.

I also liked the first more than the second but they're both good games.
 
Hell yeah. DIRT2 is a great game and its something to get you warmed up for 3. Get it.
 
It's a fun game, and surly doesn't cost much these days.
And as you're an american, the whole american themed game doesn't bother you the way it did here in Europe.

Go get it.

Lol actually it does. The whole "X games/extreme sports" disgusts me but i'd figure if i stopped playing GT5 and got more entertained by playing Shift 2, this would have the same effect until Dirt 3 comes out. And to Ceiling_fan, the demo isn't available anymore for the PS3? (at least when i searched on PSN store)

So far it's around 30 dollars or so over here. I might as well just trade in some games that i don't play anymore and pick it up.

If the X games theme bothers you, you really do want the first dirt then. The way dirt 3 is looking, it will also be a step backward in rally racing for the dirt franchise. They should almost just make 2 games. One for rally and one for whatever the dirt franchise has become.

You can stick to plain rally and trailblazer (rally without co-pilot/directions) if you wish. :)

How well does it work with a DFGT (if anyone knows)?

Just called about six stores over here and only one of them has it. Didn't expect it to be that sacred lol.

EDIT: So i just got back from picking up the game. Trade in four games that i barely play anymore and got the game for $1.93. Total steal ahhaha! Thanks for all the input guys!

Works great with G27 and dfp, should also work well with the dfgt. I have a dfgt, i should be able to try it tomorrow.

And yes, definitely get this game ... ooppss you already got it.

"American themed" isn't exactly correct. "extreme sports" themed...and is just as annoying in the USA as anywhere else. :crazy:
 
No. Dirt3 is coming soon and will have lot of rally, weather effects. It will be a better game so you should consider that

For trading in three games that i don't ever touch anymore, i got the game for roughly $1.83 out of my pocket. Not much of a lost if i disliked the game (which i don't) and I'll be picking up Dirt 3 next month as well.
